Came here on a wet February around lunch time. A very nice, quaint bar with a chilled atmosphere.
Staff friendly and decent food. Just a shame no cider on tap, or bigger bottles(only 330ml).

Grab a fresh baguette sandwich and plant yourself on the patio—it’s prime seating for A+ people-watching. Prices are right, the staff are friendly, and your food’s practically at your table before you sit down. Quick, cheap, and cheerful!

Stopped in for a quick bite in between stops on my tour of Gibraltar. My traveling companions and I each got a Baguette sandwich – I had the Pork & Apple Chutney and they had the Crispy Bacon Tomato.

Both sandwiches were good, came with some salad and fries, and came out quickly.

Only complaint is the onions in the salad (I’m allergic), and they could have put a touch more chutney on the sandwich so it was less dry.

I had the fish and chips. It was the crispiest batter I’ve ever had, thin batter but crunchy all the way to the last bite. The fish was quite fresh, tender inside and it was a full half side of fish.

Fries were newly cooked as well.

Service was friendly and warm, almost like family. The waiter made us feel welcome, service was quick too. We went at 1:15 pm for lunch.

Chili con carne was ok, served with fries as well.

The ceiling and back wall of the bar was full of signed navy hats. Unique and quite interesting.

We were extremely hungry for fish & chips since we had just crossed the border from Spain to Gibraltar into Great Britain seating was limited outdoors so we got the last table in the alley. Other than having to wait a very long time for our meal, the fish & chips arrived hot and crisp!
Our waiter was charming, he asked where we were from and when we told him the US he proceeded to ask us to mention a state and he would quickly respond with the correct capital. We were impressed.
Good food, slow getting our food to us but overall very tasty.

Ordered 1 beef in pepper sauce with rice, 1 fish & chips.

5 or so minutes later, they advised they have no beef and agreed to the chicken in pepper sauce option.

The food arrived as chicken in pepper sauce with chips – when we advised we ordered with rice, were abruptly told they “don’t even serve rice” by who appeared to be the owner. It’s literally there as an option on your specials menu.

The chips were clearly cheap frozen chips too, so not that enjoyable for the price.

So no beef, and no rice. 2 stars for food as the actual fish was OK, and the chicken wasn’t dry. Pepper sauce was bland.

The venue itself has a nice atmosphere, with little birds flying in & out. Staff spoilt it a bit in our experience, although the lady behind the bar seemed nice.

Toilets are 1 cubicle each for man & woman, with no way off seeing if it’s occupied aside from trying to rattle it open.

The food and drinks were great and the portions were very big and reasonably price but I would recommend the chef wearing something on their head like a hair net because I found bunch of hair on one of my lamb piece. The atmosphere was very bad because most of the staff clearly didn’t want to work there as they were too busy checking their phones and rude except the old man waiter that was the only one that was very available to us and friendly. Anyway, overall the pub was alright…

We stopped in Gibraltar for a short time. We explored the main tourist street where you can find shops, restaurants and bars. Since it was a hot day we had to grab a quick beer. Well maybe two. Prices were reasonable and service very friendly.
