Blue Heron Bakery is hands down the best bakery in the region. Everything they make is exceptional, and the quality is immediately obvious from the moment you walk in. The fresh sourdough is phenomenal, the herb and olive focaccia is downright addictive, and the baguettes and decadent pastries somehow keep getting better every time you visit. Truly, the list of standouts goes on and on.
If you’re looking for fresh-baked goods done right, look no further — Blue Heron Bakery has it all. On top of the incredible food, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, prices are fair, and the experience feels genuine and community-driven.
Owner Todd is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his craft, which shows in every loaf and pastry that comes out of the bakery.
Pro tip: do not skip the savory pastries — especially the ham and cheese croissant. It’s absolutely to die for and worth the visit alone. Blue Heron Bakery is a true gem and a must-stop every single time. ✨

Why is there no option for 7 stars? Simply the absolute BEST bakery I’ve ever visited. Todd takes great pride in baking everything from scratch, fresh, dally. The olive ciabatta is baked golden and crusty and soft on the inside. Perfect for sandwiches or kalamata croutons on my Greek salad. The croissants..oh the croissants! The flakiest most buttery deliciousness ever. I wish there was a way to ship these delights across the country. Truly a blessing to have found this place. Keep it up Todd! Your hard work is getting noticed.

My friends and I were passing through town and decided to stop at this bakery for a snack. We all thought the cheese danishes were the best we had in our lives – and we’re from New York City… I also had a pear donut that was so perfect and buttery and not too sweet. The coffee was also great! Thanks Blue Heron!

This this is the bakery you wish you lived next door to. Every time we come, we get excellent quality baked goods. Sadly this time the croissants already sold out, and no baguettes, but we know these are great from previous trips. The cinnamon rolls were the best I have ever had (I usually don’t care much for these) the bostock was something I had never heard of, but now know I love–brioche bottom with citrus layer, then almond paste covered by loads of sliced almonds and powdered sugar. Someone said a bostock is like a cross between French toast and an almond croissant. There will be crumbs from the flakey texture. Baked goods are made with butter, and you can taste this.

Unbelievably fresh and delicious baked goods! The French loaf is out of this world fantastic, and the croissants, pretzels, etc. are wonderful as well. So impressive for a bakery in a small town! Definitely worth a visit. It’s the best bakery in the area for homemade, fresh breads.

You know this is true bakery as soon as you walk in. Real bread made with real flour..!! These days it’s hard to find bread that is not made with enriched flour. Blue Heron uses locally extracted organic wheat flour.. nothing else added – you can see the bags as soon as you enter. The bread and baked goods are rich in flavor with a fantastic texture. What a gem of a place.
