I don’t think I could recommend this restaurant. We did the Omakase option and while the food was delicious, it was obvious the restaurant was not prepared and the atmosphere was odd. We waited over 40 minutes from sitting down to receive food. Anyone who ordered a drink was already finished long before service started. The fish was already pre-sliced and we were waiting 40+ minutes for the rice. Once the rice came out they started serving. They have two set times for Omakase so it feels like they should have been ready.

They were also playing 70/80’s music throughout the night which didn’t suit an elevated dining experience. Listening to Blondie and Take on Me was strange, especially at this price point.

The food was very tasty once it began and while the staff were attentive and kind I don’t think I will be returning nor could I recommend choosing the restaurant to someone else.

Wonderful Omakase experience. The sushi is fresh and tasty from Japan and local sources. Glad to try it!

I cannot suggest this place enough. From the first plate set in front of us to the last, perfection. Every plate was accompanied by a detailed explanation by the waitstaff outlining what the fish was, from where it was source, and whether or not it was farm raised. They would suggest which piece to eat first and why. We are excited to come back and bring friends and family to enjoy this experience.

As my daughter, whom I took to Sushi Wafu for our annual omakase, kept saying, “Oh my God, this is so good!”

To elaborate: This is the real deal, top quality fish, prepared with attention and care, served without fanfare, but with maximum respect for the food, and the experience.

We have tried omakase all around NYC, but this is our new favorite. Go in with an open mind, listen to the chefs, and savor every bite and every moment.

Very unique sushi where rice has no mirin in it only two types of vinegar and salt which is very high in umami. Chef Eric is hilariously frank and this restaurant is clearly the style of sushi he wants to serve. All the ingredients are very fresh and high quality. That being said I think a slight touch of sweetness in the rice would help carry the finish on the seafood more as the strong acidity and savoriness of the sushi rice cuts into the fish very quickly.

This will probably be the best traditional nigiri experience you’ll be able to find outside of NYC.

We had the best sushi ever! Most came from Japan and the rest from other locations that sourced it fresh. This intimate restaurant took great care of us and every course was as good or better than the last. We did the omakase tasting menu and highly recommend it! WOW!
