They got 3 on first inspection and 2 more 22 days later for the same issues.

We had high hopes for Reds Place. We believe in supporting local business and on a whim, decided to give Reds Place a try. They had been open for four days.
We had high hopes for Reds Place. We believe in supporting local business and on a whim, decided to give Reds Place a try. They had been open for four days.
The first thing is ambience. Aside from some checked curtains, it looks like Teeters inside but with some modern light fixtures. It has a sort of rustic feel with old saws on the wall but the lights take away from the rustic look. With all the work it appeared they had done, the only thing missing was the larger more comfortable booths. More tables and chairs were there. The banquette seats were very hard and small.
There were also a lot of cars. That is typically a good sign. In the case of Reds Place, throw typi-cal out the window. Nothing was really any different. The same black marker that was on the wall when it was Teeters is still there. Banquettes have white paint on them which is weird because all the walls are bare wood. The cashier station is the same cruddy looking plywood painted white and old looking. The ticket is not totaled when they leave it at your table. Pretty sure the cars out front belonged to the staff, way too many people working for only 2 tables with customers.
The wait staff was new, and we understand learning the ropes and getting good at your job. But getting the orders wrong is not acceptable. Reds Place does not serve breakfast which is probably a good thing. We ordered off the menu which is primarily hamburgers, chicken fried steak, etc.
Everything on the menu was Teetersish but the food was awful. Baked stuffed potatoes are served on a plate full of melted butter. Not sure if you are supposed to pour the butter over the potato, or roll the potato around in the melted butter. The butter belongs in the potato, not on the plate.
The rice that comes with Mexican orders was grossly overcooked and really sticky. It had black pepper in it and was clearly from a can. The salsa was sweet, with a thick, paste-like texture and the taste that says it too came from a can. The chips were stale and cold.
If Reds Place is going to stand a chance, they need to throw away the canned salsa and bags of chips and hire a short order cook. Black pepper does not go into rice. Except at Reds.
Prices were reasonable which is the only Pro I can think of. I cannot recommend Reds for the food or the ambience. Parking was good. Staff were very polite. We decided that all of the cars in front must belong to the owners and staff. Because there was nobody else inside except one other couple.
UPDATE 01/30/2023 – Red’s Place received negative health code violations for food storage, preparation and separations of products. They got 3 on first inspection and 2 motor 22 days later.
I think they closed.
