Wonderful Valentine’s Day experience at Olivia’s In the Village! Great food, service, and atmosphere. The Prime Rib and Mediterranean Salmon were cooked perfectly with out of this flavor❗️Our server Jami treated us like family and was an absolute pleasure to work with. The owner, Gary, made sure we were well taken care of and personally thanked us for coming in. Add this restaurant to your must visit list. Thanks again Olivia’s! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed my meal at Olivia’s. The seafood chowder was very thick, but had lots of shrimp, crab, and potatoes and tasted great. The salad was a salad. And the broiled seafood was ok, the crab cake was the best part.

We enjoy going to Olivia’s. We were seated right away. Our server was friendly and the food was excellent. We had seafood chowder and a small seafood platter. It was just the right size. The apple dessert was amazing. I absolutely loved it. I loved that they played jazz music. It was so relaxing and easy to talk to one another.

What an adorable little place on Main Street in Gloucester – my first visit, and I’ve been in the area since 1999. I had the black and bleu salad – the steak was perfectly medium rare and the dressing was livened up with a flavor I couldn’t identify but it was super tasty. My dining companion had a tuna melt, which looked gorgeous and the fries I stole were crisp and tasty. Our server was a bit surly when we were seated, but improved greatly soon after we ordered. (Everyone has a bad day now and again, and things get crazy around the holidays, so maybe the server was dealing with something that happened before we got there.) The atmosphere is homey and welcoming, the original wood floors are stunning, and one of the servers takes exquisite photos that decorate the walls. The restaurant hums with activity, and it looked like there were a number of locals who dine here regularly. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!

It was really nice over all. The pancakes were good, the sausage patties were really good. Some of the best I’ve had. Haven’t been here before but it was a really good experience since I’m not really a big breakfast person. There was also a lot of beautiful pictures taken by one of the waiters. It was great!

Nice oasis of great food and nice staff in the expanse that is Gloucester. Food is better than most places in central Richmond with wait staff that are as kind and welcoming as your aunt. 10/10 will stop in again when we come through.

The picture is the $32.99 Captains Platter, after we removed the fries from the plate. That’s all the protein you get… For $32.99 I was expecting mounds of seafood since it’s their most expensive food item. The food also took about 45 minutes to arrive and I’m guessing there had to be some confusion in the kitchen or something because the portion size is abysmal. I would have given this place one star, but we had a really nice, attentive waitress that gave us a discount after I said that I’m not used to so little food for so much money. As it stands though, I don’t see any reason to come here again when I can go to Bubba’s down the road and get about 3x this portion size for $25.

Really loved this place.
My Prime Rib was delicious, as was the other food. Service was great, and it’s in a really cool location in historic Gloucester.
Can’t wait to come back!!!

It’s been about a year since we made it to Gloucester. We always stop at Olivia’s when we come through. Called ahead to see if there was some outdoor seating as we had our dog with us. Thankfully there was and it’s dog friendly. We started out with the crab potato skins and complimentary rolls. I got the prime rib special which was good. We also got tortellini with blackened chicken. The tortellini was amazing, the sauce was creamy and not watered down like most places anymore. In past we have gotten sandwiches and burgers which are also good. Out of the restaurants around here it was definitely my favorite.

As the saying goes, any port in a storm.
As I’ve been around the Gloucester area my entire life I’ve seen businesses come and go in that storm. Wild Rabbit being one I think about somewhat regularly, and a few others coming to mind as well the longer I linger on the thought, such as Courthouse Restaurant. Businesses come, they do what they can, they eventually close. It’s the same everywhere but on Main Street you feel it even more so.
Today I walked into Olivia’s for the first time in a long time. Not for any other reason than on a whim I decided I wanted lunch. I got the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, with the Tomato Bisque as my soup. It took me back to a time when local diners were a mainstay of the communities they sprout from. The food was delicious, the waitress and staff were pleasant, the mood was immaculate.
It is more important than ever for places like Olivia’s to exist. Businesses ran by people, with roots that go deep into the location they have planted themselves. Businesses that are as much a part of the community as the people themselves. In this storm of monotony and chains that are copy pasted up and down the country, lacking expression and the human factor that we all intrinsically crave, this is one of the shelters from the rain.
10/10, I wouldn’t have this place any other way.
