The honest review
If you’re looking for a place in Burnet that nails the balance between good food, good value, and a comfortable atmosphere, this spot delivers every time. From the moment you walk in, the customer service stands out—everyone is friendly, attentive, and quick without making you feel rushed. You can tell they’ve been doing this a long time, because everything runs smoothly even during busy hours.
The food hits that sweet spot of classic diner comfort with fast turnaround. Whether you’re grabbing burgers, chicken, sides, or something lighter, everything comes out hot, fresh, and way quicker than you’d expect. And the prices? Honestly, for what you get, they’re hard to beat. It’s one of the rare places where you walk out feeling like you actually got more than your money’s worth.
Inside, the old-school diner aesthetic gives it a cozy, nostalgic vibe. It’s quiet enough to talk without shouting, which makes it a nice little date-night option—simple, cute, and laid-back. At the same time, it’s absolutely welcoming for families. Plenty of seating, clean tables, and an environment that just feels easygoing. No chaos, no stress.
They also have a surprisingly large menu. Whether you’re picky, adventurous, or bringing a group with different tastes, everyone can find something they’re happy with. That alone makes it a dependable go-to spot.
Overall, this place checks all the boxes: fast service, great food, fair prices, and an atmosphere that works for any type of outing. It’s the kind of local spot you end up coming back to again and again because it just consistently hits the mark.

They have always had great food at a good price. You will not be disappointed eating here. Here is their chicken fried steak sandwich with onion rings.

The people were friendly and patient. The atmosphere was clean and loved the outdoor seating.
The French fries were yummy, but I did not care for the burgers.
The patties were thin as paper and lacking of flavor.

The burgers at Storms are decent but not legendary. It seemed like there was little care put into the preparation; the onions weren’t grilled, the gouda cheese was barely noticeable, and there was only one piece of bacon included. On the other hand, the hand-cut fries were well-seasoned and were the best part of the meal. Everyone was nice.

1st time, passing through on our roadtrip. I reviewed this place and photos. I noticed that they grill the buns, so we asked them not to and requested mayo instead of mustard which is common where we are from. Respectable staff and honored what we requested, super friendly. A regular cheeseburger is like 1/6 patty thin (works for me), 1/3 lb is basically 2 patties together. Kids’ meal comes with fries and drink. They don’t ask if you want make it combo. Onions rings were done perfectly delicious. Fries tasted great to my family, I prefer different style (Hence I got onions rings, super pleased with them). No drinks this time. Prefer places like this over fast-food chains. I have had better buns from other hamburger places especially in regard quality of taste and texture (nears a stale bun), without having to request no grill, which is rated 4. Sadly, no pickles. Charges extra for cheese, there’s a variety. Definitely worth stopping by again if passing through on roadtrip.

I love storms but have never been to this one. They were the sweetest, patient people! We struggle ordering cuz of dietary issues with the grandbaby and they so kinda and didn’t rush us.
Then even came back and asked us if she enjoyed its

We are out of towners. Stopped in this cute town to get breakfast. We decided to try this place out. Was not disappointed. Breakfast burrito hit the spot. They deserve good recognition. If I’m ever traveling through here again, I’m definitely stopping by.

I love these kind of places! I’ve driven past Storm’s for years and I was finally not in a hurry so I stopped and wasn’t disappointed. I got the double cheeseburger with fries. The burger was great but could’ve used a touch more lettuce and onions. I love chopped lettuce on a burger. The fries though… Holy moly! If my wife wasn’t with me I would’ve got more. They were perfectly cooked, not soggy and just crispy enough but still able to let salt cling to them. Next time I’m headed to San Antonio(from Harker Heights) I’ll definitely make time eat here again! You can tell the locals love this place! And, of you’re towing a boat home or have the horses with you, there’s places out back that are paved to park too.
