Burger House is an icon of Miami AZ, Gila County, and Arizona! Whenever we head up to the White Mountains from the Valley of the Sun, we plan on stopping for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Burger House. Their food is excellent and the value is amazing! They’re especially well known for their Green and Red Chile burritos and almost everything else on their menu smothered in green or red chile. We love green and red mix burritos which have beans in them along with green Chile pork and cheese or red Chile beef and cheese. A few things you should try smothered in Chile besides the burritos are the burgers, fries, and enchiladas. If you’re feeling adventurous, ask for a fried egg on top of whatever smothered plate you’ve ordered. The delicious, oozy, yolk is a perfect compliment to the chile. Try an order of buttered tortilla chips with the house salsa too. It’s a wonderful starter. If you’re short on time, call ahead and place an order for pick up. If you have time to dine in, be sure and ask them to smother your burrito, burger, fries, or enchiladas with your favorite chile or both (Christmas Style) as it won’t come that way unless you ask.
Some of my favorite items are:

My guide on how I use the 5 star system:
⭐️ = Not good
⭐️⭐️ = Not terrible, but would not get again
⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Solid, but I’d try something else before this again
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Really liked it! You should try this
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Loved it! Must try
I’ll make adjustments to my ratings after subsequent visits. If you see a .3 or .7 it means:
.3 = Wasn’t as good the 2nd or last time I tried it
.7 = This was better the 2nd or last time I tried it.

Standard clean hole in the wall place. That’s the whole vibe. You don’t need to be distracted by atmosphere when the food is bomb.
After 10 years of surviving on TexMex, we’re moving to AZ. Along the way, we stopped for gas and my husband asked inside where to get breakfast. He was thinking Mickey D’s but the lady told him to go across the street for a green chile burro. Green chile pork is one of my favorite foods in life. I ended up ordering a Tony Especial breakfast burro Christmas style with red and green chile. Im not lying when I say the first bite brought a tear to my eye. Absolutely delicious!!! I actually saved it on my GPS so I can find my way back here one day.
Also, the guys cooking and especially the lady at the counter were sooooo friendly and nice. Love it! This place is a true gem.

Wow, what a surprise… the line is busy for hrs as I try calling over n over as usual… Hmm I wonder why?! Oooh yeah, I remember why! It’s bc they take the gosh darn phone off the damn hook so nobody can order anything so flippin annoying!
So THEN! After I got tired of trying to call numerous times, I drive all the way from the other side of town—I get there 30min before 7pm (closing time)…
So guess wht happens as soon as I pull up? A ‘butch’ girl walks outside n says “we’re closed sorry!” bc they already started closing up early. It’s supposed to close at 7pm, right? Y can’t I order anything 30min before closing time? It’s SATURDAY!? Ppl still wna eat whn u advertise ur open till 7pm.
This place has gotten worse and worse over the yrs. N tbh, the food isn’t always good or it’s just ok sometimes—but tht is a hit or miss with tht place.
Lookin at all the low rated reviews, I dnt see any lies…

I have had a frozen burrito that was better than the green chili burrito I ordered today. Not only was it a soup burrito but the cheese in it wasn’t even melted. It had no flavor and salsa tasted like it came from a can.

The red chili burritos here are the best. Although I wish they would put lettuce and tomato in it by default. It makes it taste even more great and its able to last longer if you take it home! The service here is very friendly and it is also family owned/ran too!

Don’t expect something fancy or trendy. But for “Mexican” food that the locals love, this place does the job. Split the 16oz carne asada with my wife. Delicious!

We grew up here and we have to stop every time we go through town. Last weekend I ordered 6 red and 6 green burros to take home and a taco for the drive. They forgot the taco and when we got home the burros were mostly cheese with a few pieces of meat. The flavor is still good but I won’t spend $82 again for a dozen burros. I was disappointed.

Their green chile is probably the best in the state. It was phenomenal. However, the shredded beef taco was disgusting. It was not shredded like you would normally see in Mexican food. It was like a beef paste, like you see in the tacos at Jack-in-the-Box. I will definitely be back, but they can keep those tacos.

Spectacular burger. I ordered the burger ole and I’m glad I did. The fries were less impressive, but at least they were salted perfectly. They were quite busy, since I arrived at lunch. Definitely a locals spot. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the staff to the locals who answered my questions while we waited in line.

Food is just ok. Green chili is too soupy and runny. It’s counter service with a small dining area. Not really grab and go food since it’s messy and not really a great place to eat in. It is less expensive than other places however.
