Wow, each bite was an explosion of flavors, I was delighted and amazed.
We wait about 30 min to be seated, that’s ok, we’re not in the rush. The place is very very small and smells like fishy, but in a good way!
We got a really good sake, we ordered the Toto sampler and it was excellent fresh, tasty, can’t describe, it made me go to heaven for a few seconds.
The rice on the rolls are very well made, shine and you can see the rice perfectly, that’s something is really important to me and tells you how good the sushi is by the rice.
I recommend you coming by, because I know I’m definitely coming back!
Came in excited, left bewildered. I ordered the premium nigiri set: 12 pieces for $70 before tax. The fish? Passably fresh, but not premium. Each piece sat atop a sad little blob of rice, noticeably smaller than traditional servings. It felt more like a sampler from someone still learning the ropes than a showcase of skill.
The miso soup? Diluted to the point of existential crisis. Tasteless. Full stop.
Add a pot of green tea and the bill crept just shy of $100 with tax and tip.
I get it, this is SF. But for that price, you could have a transcendent sushi experience elsewhere. This was aggressively mediocre, and the value just isn’t there.
Keep searching, folks this isn’t it.
The quality of the fish and rice was soso, the selection of different fish types could have been better. The shape of nigiris was not made in a clean manner. Not a japanese-quality sushi place.
Theresa is the gem taking care of you and she always has great suggestions.
I’ve been visiting annually for many years. The sushi is always fresh and tasty.
My only tip is to use your bathroom before going. Not because they don’t have one, but due to the small size, their restroom is downstairs in the building directly next to them. It’s fine and clean, just a little out of the way.
We ordered an assortment of sushi, and all of it was fresh, delicious, and priced accordingly.
The service was pleasant and fast.
We both enjoyed it and would return.
