Broski you need to get the tray with a milkshake specifically the Oreo mint one it’s just he best. We are on a eleven hour drive from NC to Pa and this is the second time we are at a Cookout this trip because it’s too stinkin’ good. It’s gotta be the most refreshing and scrumptious thing to eat on a car ride. Bruh just go here right now. What are you doing still reading reviews, get in the car and go to Cookout!

Cookout is a good place for a cheap bite to eat. Typically they are pretty quick, you get plenty of food for the amount you pay, and the environment is usually pretty calm. All of that said the food is nothing to write home about but that’s to be expected for the price and amount you get. At the end of the day I’d definitely recommend it for folks on a tight budget who would still like to eat out.
TLDR: Cookout has cheap, plentiful food with decent speed and service. Although the food is nothing special it’s a good cheap place to eat.

COOKOUT – Radford, VA The interior of this place closes down around 9pm. So there are a drive through lanes until 3AM, or as late as 4am on weekend nights. There are 2 drive through lanes, the lane on the right always seems to have a shorter line.
The pulled pork sandwich was moist and juicy. The Texas Pete hot sauce is a good touch. Where else are you gonna find a drive through fast food sandwich like that at one of the big Goliath fast food chains?
The beef quesadilla seemed unseasoned and was underwhelming. The hush puppies tasted like they were fried too long in old frier oil.
This place does not accept American Express cards. So, I paid with a Citibank Custom Cash Mastercard that pays 5% cash back on restaurant purchases.
This place was probably the best food I’m gonna find at this hour of the night (1:15AM). I would definitely consider coming back.

Now… Cookout usually does me and my gal pal well after the gym, but tonight was not the case. I needed a moment to collect my thoughts and the young man in the drive through screamed at us which scared me. I felt very rushed. I know it is fast food but manners should always be used! Was not asked about sauces and had to pull out some chickfala sauce from the car. Overall the food is but the attitudes were not.

So when I visit Cookout in Radford Va it’s usually through the drive thru…and the food is generally pretty good…fresh and hot!! Although A LOT of HOW your food comes out How HOT it is and especially HOW MUCH you get (esp as sides in the trays) depends on WHO is working…from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE…the last couple times we visited Cookout through the drive thru the kids that were working the drive thru were VERY RUDE VERY SHORT and acted as if we were BOTHERING THEM!! One in particular not too many days ago working the 2nd window was a TOTAL JERK to me and my friend bc we ordered 2 milkshakes and apparently he only heard one but yet did NOT CONFIRM our order at the speaker so when we told him we had ordered 2 he got really hateful and sarcastic and acted like it was our fault bc he can’t hear!! Needless to say we ended up getting both shakes but it was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience and made me feel like I NEVER wanted to go back again!! And the problem is that depending on the group of kids working it’s as if they would rather talk amongst themselves rather than help their customers! And it happens more often than not ! Personally I think Management NEEDS to STEP UP and teach these kids some CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS!! Or LOSE CUSTOMERS…bc NOBODY likes to feel like they are in the way…or like they are bothering the employees working inside the restaurant…if you don’t like to deal with people or treat them with some kindness then GET OUT of the CUSTOMER SERVICE jobs!! A little KINDNESS & RESPECT GOES A LONG WAY!!

Food and shake that I got was beyond amazing and super fast for the amount of food we got, always love the fries. They are definitely shake worthy and I will be going back soon I hope cause this is definitely one of my favorite places to eat out. Just got an order. I order the Cookout Tray Jr. hamburger with extra onions and tomatoes. No cheese. Corn dog for side. And Cherry wine for drink. The burger was missing extra onions, extra tomato. There was no ketchup or mustard on it. It’s so dry and plain. Very disappointing for my 3rd time eating here

Food was the absolute worst I’ve ever experienced. My wife ordered the regular burger, I ordered the big double burger. The big double burger was smaller than a fried slice of bologna and burnt. The bread was so soggy I had to take the meat off the bun. I ended up just throwing it away. Don’t waste your money. Go to Wendy’s. Bathrooms smelled like the worst gas station bathroom you could imagine. Don’t go there.
