Wow!! The sushi was awesome! The rolls were way bigger than I was expecting, usually I eat 2-3, here I could hardly finish 2.
The staff is very friendly and kind. I ate during lunch so it wasnt very but looks like they handle loads of people. Will be coming back if Im in the area again!

This is one of our favorite hibachi restaurants. Getting the same taste since we first started coming about 10yrs back when we moved into Mckinney. It can get busy on weekends. The restaurant looks dated but the food and people are great.

1st time here. I’m a fan of Benihana’s this place was just as good! My scallops, lobster and shrimp were grilled to perfection. My co-drivers steak was tender and moist he had no complaints! The portions are well worh the price ex shrimp, scallop and lobster fried rice gets a whole lobster tail, 3 scallops and 8 -10 shrimp (lost count watching him grill). Our chef was a great entertainer but our table was dull. They serve soup and salad prior to the meal. I had the large zombie and co driver had a jack and coke, they put lemon in the jack and coke which have it a pleasant taste. They are definitely not skimpy on the liquor.. will definitely come back.
Their steps/tile is coming off so watch your step. The decor is old school hibachi, no complaints nice to see somewhere that doesn’t adapt to modern decor. Sitting is pretty tight just like at any hibachi I’ve been to. Wish there was a way to tip the chef separately!!! Will definitely go back!

Literally the worst habachi I’ve ever had. The ingredients are of the lowest quality the fried rice taste lnothing like the typical habachi fried rice I’m use to My veggies were literally drenched in sauce it was not consumable. Hated everything about this place and will not be returning! I paid $40 for the nastiest and cheapest tasting food.

Our second visit to Shogun Hibachi & Sushi Japanese Steak House in McKinney, TX was nothing short of amazing! ✨ Our first experience back during the pandemic wasn’t the best, but tonight? They completely redeemed themselves!

Soup – Warm, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the meal. Comforting and delicious!

Salad & Dressing – Crisp, fresh, and that ginger dressing? Wow! It had just a hint of 1,000 Island flavor, adding a unique and tasty twist.

Fried Rice – Absolutely phenomenal! Perfectly seasoned, full of rich, savory goodness, and the texture was spot-on. Easily some of the best fried rice we’ve ever had!

Jalapeño Filet Mignon – THIS. WAS. EVERYTHING. The filet was buttery tender, cooked to absolute perfection, and packed with flavor. The jalapeños? ️ FRESH, not pickled! Normally, I’m not a fan of fresh jalapeños, but these had a cool, crisp bite with just the right amount of heat—not too strong, but enough to elevate every bite. No melt-your-face-off spice here, just pure deliciousness!

️ Portions? MASSIVE. You will absolutely leave with leftovers, so come hungry and prepared to feast! You get what you pay for, and then some!

This visit completely changed our perception of Shogun. The food was on point, the atmosphere was fun and lively, and we left stuffed, happy, and already planning our next visit! ️

If I could give it zero I would. I ordered my birthday dinner thru UberEats for here. Fist order was cancelled awhile after ordering so we ordered it again- it’s my birthday. My order was cancelled BY THE RESTAURANT and I was still charged because they “started making the food”. Over $100 for absolutely nothing. Everyone was starving so we had frozen pizza. I’m so incredibly disappointed in this restaurant. I don’t recommend anyone order anything from here online- ever.

We had an amazing experience. We had out of town guests from New York, this was a crowd favorite. Wonderful performance! He made a point to wow the children, which really put them at ease, given the fire show that comes with hibachi cooking.

The scallops were HUGE as well all of the portions throughout dinner. We enjoyed steak, shrimp, scallops, calamari, and fried rice. The ginger dressing on the salad was fresh and flavorful. They also have a full drink bar and a sushi bar.

Spending seventy dollars on two simple dinners should feel like a small indulgence, not a mild insult. You sit down expecting basic hospitality, or at least a gesture that acknowledges the price tag. Instead, there’s no complimentary drink, no water beyond the bare minimum, no sense of appreciation. It’s frustrating to pay premium prices and receive bare-bones service that feels transactional and cold. The food might be amazing, but the experience feels hollow. When costs rise this high, courtesy matters. A small drink would signal care. Without it, the meal feels overpriced, disappointing, and oddly disrespectful to loyal paying customers.

I called early to make reservations (for Valentine’s Day) and when we got there our names were just put down on the waiting list. We were not there for Valentine’s Day but rather my daughter’s birthday. My youngest guest daughter and I got up to go to the bathroom and when we came back (maybe gone 10 minutes) they had already sung happy birthday without me. There was no common sense to think maybe the mother wanted to be there. Not to mention they were herding people in and out like cattle. So I know they came out and sang when it was most convenient for them so they could push us out. The food was so-so and our cook barely said a word the whole dinner. This has always been a great restaurant but I will not be coming back for a long time.
