This place has phenomenal food. The salsa, guacamole and chips were fresh and tasted great. I had the enchiladas Verdes with rice and beans, the yellow rice has chopped vegetables and the beans of course topped with cheese. The service was good considering how understaffed they seemed.

Came for lunch with a buddy. My first time, but I had read many good reviews. When I suggested it, he confirmed that it was a favorite of his. We had chunky guacamole, homemade chips and fish tacos. All delicious. Lives up to its name.

Went for the first time with some friends, they were a bit busy even so the wait times weren’t bad at all. The food was was good, service was excellent, and according to my friend, the double margarita was very tasty. Would definitely go again.

I had the steak and pastor burrito and guacamole. Both were very delicious. Their homemade chips are good as well. The atmosphere could use a bit of work. Perhaps some compeling art and music playing would be nice. The server was polite, although he seemed a bit uncomfortable addressing me. Overall, a pretty decent experience.

The food and service haven’t been very good the last few times I’ve gone, but the only reason I’m writing a review about it is bc one of the managers SUCKS. My husband and I stopped ordering to-go from them years ago after we asked for three paper bags of chips with our order, and the manager instead tried to make us pay for three of the family sized bags you’d buy at the grocery store. When we tried to correct the mistake, he pretended there was nothing he could do about it (despite the fact that we hadn’t paid yet), and he only changed his tune once we told him that he could just keep our entire order in that case.
Then a few weeks ago we went in with some friends on a Friday night. Service was slow, and by the time we got our food, three of our meals were cold bc they’d obviously left them sitting out while they finished making the other two. We told the server about it and how we’d like the food taken off the bill, so he went and got his manager. Lo and behold, it’s the same manager from the chip debacle. You could tell he already didn’t believe us before we’d explained anything to him bc he asked me why I’d eaten half of my enchilada if it was cold even though I’d literally only taken a single bite of it. And it’s not like he apologized or offered any other solutions like remaking our food instead, which we would’ve accepted (initially). I don’t think he had planned to make it right until someone said they’d just call and dispute the charge with their bank, at which point he told us we’d “taken things too far” and that he’d fix our checks.
Memphis has way too many good Mexican restaurants for anyone to be putting up with all of that.

Came here for lunch with a coworker (Sept 11) and we were seated immediately (it was after the lunch rush). I ordered the Tortilla Soup (tortilla strips on the side) and 2 chicken tacos. The tacos were good once I added the 2 different sauces on top but the chicken was a little dry. I didn’t finish the soup as it wasn’t that good with a lot of cheese mixed in it. I definitely wouldn’t order that again. The chips and salsa was good, though! Our waiter, Juan, was rude and we had to ask for refills on the chip and salsa, etc. My coworker raved about this place because of a particular waitress makes it memorable but this time she wasn’t there and it simply was a BUST.

Good food at affordable prices. One of my favorite spots to get fresh guacamole and chips. The salsa is good too. Great place to feed a family on a budget.

Overheard some friends talking about how they liked this place so I gave it a try. At 12:30 on a Saturday, the restaurant was empty which was a bad sign. The staff was friendly but only saw my server when she delivered my drink and my food, so I needed a water refill half of the time. The rice was bland and crunchy (also saw that in another person’s review) and the flautas were simply fried tortillas with unseasoned chicken, so no taste there either .
Happy Mexican is just down the road on Ridgeway and has some of the best Mexican rice I have ever had with great food and service. Go there.

Catered an event at my house for around 50 people. The food was awesome, easy to serve and eat. Very affordable and Antonio was easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed.
