Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Today I’m at a local favorite Whataburger on Ellsworth Road when I first arrived the drive-through team member was very nice and knowledgeable. I ordered their biscuits and gravy with chicken gravy that’s without the sausage and pancakes extra syrup I did have to wait a few minutes for my food, but that’s to be expected when you want something made fresh and hot from experience and I’ve eaten a lot of places, especially fast food places nowhere can eat pancakes and biscuits and gravy from Whataburger I think people sleep on their breakfast. I prefer their breakfast over their lunch and dinner menu. My rating is a 10 out of 10 if you were looking for a good Breakfast Pl., Whataburger on Ellsworth Road you won’t be disappointed

I haven’t had their hamburger for a long time, last time I tried their was more than 15 years ago in Texas. The hamburger was good, larger than Inn n Out and Five Guys.

Update 08/30/23 — for the last two months the breakfast taquitos have been perfect!!
I ordered a taquito with cheese and it has to be the grossest I’ve ever seen eggs. Looks like they didn’t clean their grill all day.
Returned a week later, eggs were brown and greasy. Asked how often they clean their grill. The manager responded every shift. I showed her the brown greasy eggs and she thought they looked fine. I asked for a refund but she aggressively demanded I let her remake them personally. So anytime I want taquitos I need to have the manager make them personally I guess? Seems unreasonable. Will be the last time I visit whataburger. Linda remade my order and as you can see, in the last picture they’re cooked perfectly!! I hope they can train their staff to use LESS oil when cooking the eggs.
Update: this is my last time coming here. The eggs are either covered in oil, burnt, old or poorly made. Stay away from this location.

OK, this was the second time trying this place and I have to say it sucks even worse than the first time. I sure hope the owners of this restaurant read these reviews. So we wanted to get a chicken version of the avocado bacon burger… The meal itself is $13.99. We had them remove the spicy pepper sauce and the tomatoes add mayo and add a chicken breast… This restaurant charged me an additional $3.30 for a chicken patty substitute… Bringing the total of the meal to almost $19. Of course, they have no idea what they’re doing in the kitchen, and put tomatoes on the sandwich and the spicy pepper sauce as well… so we had to have them remake it. I flagged down the manager, who could pretty much care less about my sandwich being messed up, she wrote on my receipt what exactly I wanted, and took it back to the kitchen… About 8 minutes later, they brought it out with different cheese that wasn’t melted, and I swear they rinsed off the chicken breast because I still had the spicy pepper sauce on the side of it… No apology, no second visit to our table, nothing by the management . But, they were all too busy hanging around and talking because I could hear them all yapping loudly while we were eating our dinner it, was extremely unprofessional. Then when I spoke to the manager about the price of the meal, she didn’t say anything but “yup “ . The fries were super salty, the best part about the meal were the onion rings… We will never go to Whataburger again and I sure hope this is read by the ownership of the restaurant because they are doing an extremely poor job. Another example was when I was waiting for the sandwich to be remade. A customer came in through the lobby and waited at the counter over five minutes, having to go around the corner to flag somebody down in the back to have them come up and ring him up. Check the video from Friday, September 6 between 2 and 3 PM. Also to make things worse, they did not give me back my receipt and when I asked the person at the front counter, they asked me what my order number which of course I had no idea what it was the manager, then made a point to come out and say that she threw away my receipt and re-printed it and just handed it to me, no apology for the messed up Food no apology for the poor service… I’m a manager at my job and if I would’ve done that, I would’ve been fired. Ownership, please reach out to me. I still have my receipt they reprinted I can give you all the information about the time and people, etc..
