My husband and I did not have Valentine’s day reservations so we’re so excited that we were able to grab a table here for dinner! From the hostess to our main server, service was outstanding.
And our food as well. We ordered crab legs and fish of the day.
To add the ambience was magical and so perfect for a romantic Valentine’s evening.

We came to this restaurant, which has a very good rating, to try the oysters. At first everything seemed quite nice. The only small things we noticed were slightly loud music and dim lighting, but those are minor details.

We ordered wine along with seafood and oysters. About 10 minutes later the seafood arrived, but the wine had not. After another 5 minutes we were informed that the wine we ordered was not available, so we chose a different one. Around 10 minutes later the manager came and told us that the second wine was also unavailable. I mentioned that this was already the second time and that oysters without wine at a place like this feels a bit unusual. The response felt a little dismissive, which was slightly disappointing.

The second thing was the lobster. Unfortunately, the taste was rather bland and not quite what we expected.

Considering that dinner here is about $85 per person (without wine), we were hoping to leave a bit more satisfied. Overall, the place has potential and a good atmosphere, but the experience could be improved with better communication about the wine availability and a bit more attention to the food quality.

I wasn’t impressed, their other restaurants are so much better! For a seafood restaurant, definitely don’t order the oysters. They were terrible. The desserts were delicious so a couple of stars. The rest of the food was disappointing.

The atmosphere at Herringbone is top notch – you’d never know you’re inside a busy mall! The ambiance and the service really made dinner feel relaxing.

However, the food was really hit or miss, and the menu inconsistencies between online, in print, and verbal were so disappointing. They didn’t have several things that were listed online (including the dinner my husband wanted) and didn’t have the dessert that I wanted to go here for – it’s still listed on both the online and restaurant menus, but the waiter told us it’s discontinued. If we’d known what was actually on the menu, we’d probably have skipped going here.

5/5 Drinks – both the cocktails and mocktails are flavourful and fun

5/5 Wagyu hot stone – we loved this! Small portions of course (it’s a small appetizer), but the flavour was so good

2/5 American wagyu – this was not cooked rare as ordered, and was kind of so-so. Unfortunate since it wasn’t cheap. My husband didn’t want to waste food by having it remade but it was so disappointing

3/5 Brussels sprouts – very oily, not a lot of flavour

4/5 Bone marrow – very tiny portion but great flavour

3/5 Misoyaki butterfish – pretty standard and the bok choy is a great addition. I didn’t love it, but it was good. The shrimp dumplings were the highlight of the dish for sure

Overall we enjoyed the setting for dinner a lot but for a $200 meal I expected it to be better – and especially for the steak to be cooked as ordered

Such a hidden gem tucked away on the 3rd floor. Quiet but lovely! Food was fantastic and the service top notch! Super low prices for the area!

Great service from Shannon! Favorite drink of the trip as the Capricious Collins, so refreshing.
The Wagyu hot stone and miso cod were the standouts of the meal.
Came back the next day for another beverage, nice bar staff too!

I’ve been wanting to try this place ever since it opened and unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations. It has absolutely stunning design, beautiful patio and dining room, definitely would be a good spot for a get together atmosphere-wise. I came in around 9 pm on a Saturday night and the the restaurant wasn’t busy, I was greeted and seated immediately and the hostess was so incredibly nice and welcoming despite the fact it was already so late into the busiest night of the week. I happened to come during the happy hour, so I got a drink and food off that menu – Aoki Manhattan, hamachi crudo and furikake fries. I’m a whiskey/bourbon aficionado and it was the first time I had a Manhattan served on the rocks. The drink was flavorful and stiff but biting on the small pieces of ice felt a bit off. The crudo tasted fantastic, fresh fish, tangy sauce and topping, almost perfect if it was a bit more seasoned. I wouldn’t recommend furikake fries. Definitely prepared to order, hot and crispy, but the flavor was lacking. Small sprinkle of mass-produced furikake that mostly contained salt didn’t do anything for the flavor and nor did a modest amount of mayo squeezed on top. My server seemed in a rush and a bit uninterested, perhaps because it was just me. My water never got refilled, he never checked in on me or asked how was everything going. Somebody who I assumed to be a manager checked in on me, I shared my experience and he seemed to care and wanting to help/rectify my experience. I won’t be back as there are better places on the island, but I believe they have some good dishes and maybe you should find out for yourself.

We went to Herringbone Waikiki for happy hour and also celebrate our anniversary. There was no wait for a table and we didn’t have reservations.

Josiah was our attentive server. I had the Berry Good Time while Hubby had the Peach Daiquiri. The drinks were well balanced. Then, we shared a dozen Wildcat West Coast Oysters, Gochujang Octopus, Island Chopped Salad, Hamachi Crudo, and Hot Stone Washugyu. Everything was delicious! The oysters were creamy. We particularly enjoyed the hamachi crudo and ordered another one. We ended with the Pandan Dome dessert. It was an interesting sweet ending.

Highly recommend this happy hour if you’re in Waikiki.

A Memorable Fine Dining Experience at Herringbone Waikiki

Our family had the pleasure of dining at Herringbone Waikiki on a picturesque Waikiki evening. The restaurant, perched on the top floor of the International Market Place, is a sensory delight from the moment you arrive. Its spacious layout and elegant décor create a refined yet welcoming atmosphere, perfectly blending sophistication and comfort. Multiple dining areas and an inviting bar further enhance the charm of this establishment.

The menu offers a good selection of dishes that reflect the creativity and skill of the culinary team. While the portions align with fine dining standards, the flavors more than make up for their modest size. We sampled the island burger & fries, the Big Glory Bay King Salmon (beware of its unexpected spiciness—no warnings on the menu!), the Whole Fish (an artful presentation), the Pulehu Chicken, and the Potato Crusted Tuna. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted and presented, leaving a lasting impression.

However, the true highlight of Herringbone Waikiki for us was the exceptional ambiance. The harmonious design and atmosphere elevate the dining experience beyond the food itself, making it a destination worth revisiting.

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience in Waikiki, Herringbone delivers exquisite dishes paired with an unforgettable setting. Highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant on March 8, 2026, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

We ordered wine to go with our oysters, but the oysters arrived first and the wine never came. When we asked the waiter about the wine, he said he would check. After about 10 minutes he returned and said the wine was unavailable. We chose another wine, but again after some time the manager came and told us that this one was also unavailable.

As a result, we were left eating oysters without any wine or drink. No one apologized or offered any alternative.

The oysters were okay, but the crab was not good at all.

Overall, the service was very disappointing and it left us with a very unpleasant impression of the restaurant.
