We went for lunch on a Monday to try a new place. This place is north of Castro St. on Moffet with no access back to DT MTV across Central. It’s in a mostly Hispanic shopping plaza with okay parking. It’s a little dim and contemporary interior. Service was good and attentive.

I had the Massaman Curry (Beef), which I usually order on a first try to compare with other versions I have had and have experienced wide variability in execution, ingredients and flavor with this dish. Wifey had the Pad Thai with shrimp, which I don’t care for due to the eggy flavor. The shrimp was okay, juicy and tender. My curry was above average but not in the elite category. It had good coconut flavor, the beef was very tender and plentiful but I detected no peanut; which I consider essential for this dish.

It was good but not great, so no repeat.

Yum. A friend recommended this place for Thai food. We ordered honey pork, roti with green curry, chicken green curry, sticky and brown rice. My brother ordered a pina colada and he liked it a lot. Service is nice and efficient. Will try pad Thai and other items next visit.

Decent Thai food in the mountain view area. We had the Tom Yum soup , calamari and a railway fried rice with red curry. All food items were pleasantly good

Every plate was unique and exceed our expectations.

I’ve been coming to Shana for over a decade and just never thought to post a review. Glad I did so others can enjoy this awesome hidden gem.

Almost forgot, the staff is attentive and very friendly!

I recently dined at this Thai restaurant, and overall, the experience was just okay. The food itself was decent—flavors were there, but it didn’t stand out compared to other Thai spots I’ve visited. It wasn’t bad, but it also didn’t leave me wanting to come back for more.

What really impacted the experience was the service. It was extremely slow, and even though the staff seemed polite, the long wait times made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. Whether it was waiting to place an order, receiving our food, or getting the check, everything felt like it took much longer than it should have.

If you’re craving Thai food and have plenty of time to spare, it might be worth trying, but I wouldn’t go in with high expectations. There are definitely better options out there with more efficient service.

Came for lunch on a Sunday when they opened. No wait time, quick service and amicable staff. Food was good, chicken curry was cooked great. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Price point was good for portion. Ambiance has a great vibe to the space, quiet.

Standard Thai dishes but made very well and reasonable prices. Roti pieces came with a green curry which was ok. Yellow curry with duck was tasty. Sirloin wok beef and Pad Thai were better than other Thai restaurants. Had a Bangkok Mule with soju. I would recommend this place. Parking is easy.

Went in for dinner with a bunch of friends and had a good time. We ordered the Tom yum soup, drunken noodles, veg pad thai, chicken wings, green curry and the crab fried rice. The crab rice was the worst and it smelled and tasted fishy. However when we complained the servers took it back and offered to take it off or bring us a new plate. A good family restaurant with decent food.

The tom yum and drunken noodles were both delicious.we paid about a 100 bucks for all the food (minus the rice) and including the gratuity for 6 people.

YES! I finally found some delicious Thai food on the Peninsula. Shana Thai has delicious food, service and a lovely environment. The restaurant is very clean with white tablecloths. I had the spicy basil ground chicken with white rice. The portions are very large and the taste is so flavorful. This is a definite recommend in my book! It’s so much better than any other Thai restaurant in the area.

Food was amazing. The calamari, the rolls. We both got the Thai iced tea which was perfect. The Duck fried rice was absolutely delicious, the duck was perfectly cooked and was an amazing dish. Would highly recommend this to anyone for lunch, dinner, or even just for the iced tea
