If you’re hankering for chocolate, this chocolate bar is an obvious choice to visit. Lots of different chocolate options and who doesn’t like free samples? I settled on a scoop of ice cream and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the scoop. Enough to hit the spot, for sure. The safe was very friendly too. It was a fun, after dinner spot to check out.

I love anything chocolate, and I’m always on the lookout for a place that will cater to my chocolate obsession in more ways than one. An establishment that does exactly that is Winfield’s Chocolate Bar in Rice Village.
Winfield’s makes their own cakes, ice cream, pies, cookies, candies, and other sweet treats. They are probably best known for their cakes, which feature sizable slices and rich flavors. The pieces of cake are BIG; so large, in fact, that you can easily cut them up and share with another person, possibly even two people.
Visiting Winfield’s Chocolate Bar can be a bit overwhelming, as there are so many delectable options. There is no possible way to choose a single favorite. The Tres Leches, Tiramisu, and Tuxedo Cheesecake are all divine, and so are the many cakes, like Any Day’s a Holiday, Red Velvet, Brownie Supreme, and more.
If you decide to dine- in, and I recommend you do, then you will need to grab a beverage to wash down the sweet goodness. Specialty coffee and espresso make the visit complete. I usually go for a large cup of black Americano, since I’ve already got my fill of sugar from the food and don’t feel I need any more. But there are lots more beverage choices, all a perfect match for your sugary treat of choice. They have wine, too, sold by the glass or bottle. And when you leave, well, let’s just say there are countless pre- packaged sweet treats you can take home, or you can choose something from behind the counter and have it boxed and ready to go.
I love chocolate, and Winfield’s Chocolate Bar is the perfect way to satisfy my cravings. They have plenty of seating, and even a back patio for when the weather is agreeable. It’s an excellent place for sweet foods and tasty beverages, right here in Houston’s Rice Village.

Everything looks delicious. I keep telling my family we need the chocolate turkey but I don’t think they will let me on the plane with it. If you like chocolate this is the place to go. Definitely one of my favorite dessert places ive been to. They have a couple different cakes but I settled on a pecan brownie with chocolate ice cream and a chocolate covered cherry on top.

Lovely shop, and insanely delicious chocolates! Love all of the different shapes you can get of chocolates! Perfect for gifts. All of the candies my family got were delicious and we also loved our desserts we got! I got the yolo cheesecake and my sister got the flourless chocolate cake. We will definitely be back asap!

Winfield’s Chocolate Bar is the perfect place to satisfy any sweet craving. They offer a little bit of everything—rich chocolates, creamy ice cream, delicious cakes, and fun specialty treats. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or something to take home and share, there’s always something worth trying.
Their house-made chocolates are a highlight, with a great variety of flavors and textures. The cakes are moist and flavorful, perfect for any occasion. If you’re more into cold treats, their ice cream is smooth, tasty, and comes in classic and creative flavors.
It’s a great spot to stop by with friends, pick up a gift, or just treat yourself. Winfield’s has something for everyone, and everything is made with care.

I bought a slice of their most popular cake and it was so dry. Definitely not worth the price. I’ve tried better ones at HEB. Maybe they gave me an old slice? Who knows.

Excellent cake shop. Came here after dinner at Sixty Vines which was not a great experience. So we decided to get dessert at Winfield’s and we were so glad we did. Aunt Etta’s was exceptional. As were other cakes. The serving size was huge. The coffee, which we definitely needed to go with the decadent chocolate cake, was very good too. Overall excellent experience and highly recommended. ETA – my family stopped by earlier and got their hot chocolate. Extremely decadent, rich and creamy…. Not the watery kind. Do not miss this… the 4 oz will go a long way because how rich it is. And service was wonderful then as well.

My sister used to come here all the time, it was busy that you had to circle the block several times to get a parking spot, especially on a Saturday night. Not this time. I almost missed it this time. I bought the white cake 3 layer cake. I live close to humble, so this was a drive, by the time I got home the frosting was melting off the cake, and the cake was dry and dense. Did nit taste cool at all. It almost resembled a stale cake. You also don’t have as many cake choices as you used to. This is so disappointing, especially for the money. I also bought the chocolate covered popcorn that had a weird taste. The place used to be packed and a lot larger. Not so much anymore. My sister and I used to love this place. What happened? Whatever you changed, you need to change it back. We won’t be coming back, and I guess by your smaller store, that place won’t be there much longer either. So disappointing…and a waste of money!

For how gorgeous it looked, I really wish the red velvet cake had tasted better. I love most all cakes but the icing was flavorless and way too sweet, and wasn’t cream cheese as I had hoped. The cake itself was a bit better, but pretty dry and without too much flavor. Based on other reviews, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this. So if you go to the chocolate bar, I’d recommend getting actual chocolate (and skipping the cake!).
