Myself and my friend Mike have been coming here for a while now, and it’s easily the most authentic 1950s American dining experience you’ll find in the UK. We actually travel around 30 miles from Nottingham just to eat here, which should tell you how good this place really is. We’ve tried other spots like Ed’s Easy Diner and similar chains, but nothing compares to the atmosphere, quality, and genuine nostalgia this privately owned diner delivers.
One of the standout things about this place is its incredible backstory. The dining cart originally came all the way from Massachusetts, and knowing you’re sitting in a real piece of American history makes the experience even more compelling. This isn’t a mass-produced chain or a themed franchise—it’s a unique, authentic diner with real heritage behind it.
The value for money is excellent. Portion sizes are generous, the food is exceptional, and you get far better quality, flavour, and authenticity here than you do at places like Ed’s. Everything feels more genuine, more carefully prepared, and simply better.
Mike always finishes his meal with their refillable filtered coffee—can’t go wrong for just £2. Soft drinks are served in glass bottles, which makes such a difference; they taste miles better than the syrupy fountain drinks you get in most diners these days.
The staff are consistently fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always delivering top-tier customer service. The chefs are on point too: the food comes out super quick, piping hot, and I’ve never had a single mistake with an order. The milkshakes are some of the best I’ve ever tasted, and the burgers, fries, breakfasts, and desserts are all spot-on.
We visited again on the 6th of December, and the festive decorations made the place feel even more warm and inviting.
If you’re after true American nostalgia, exceptional food, amazing service, and brilliant value for money—all from a privately run, one-of-a-kind business—this diner is unbeatable. It’s worth every mile of the journey. Highly recommended!

Great little place tucked away in Swadlincote.
Perfectly encapsulating that American diner experience and the Food to match.
Burger was really tasty as we’re the fries, throughly enjoyed the experience.

Really nice style. Location looks the part The food was nice. I wouldn’t say American style but for the experience it was ok.
It was cold inside with only one small electric heater.
The puddings were questionable. The pancakes were stodgey the churros came in a choc sundae cup and were just soacked with the ice cream.
A nice experience but no one in the family of 4 said they wanted to go back including 2 kids aged 10.
Worth a try and I’m sure it would be amazing for others.

We have went as a party of 3 yesterday, our very first time. Please be aware that the car park is really small. The place itself it has a mega nice vibe, portions of food were massive! Staff was extremely lovely! We had variety of foods and next time I’m coming for burger ☺️

Noticed a subtle but noticeable change in food quality and service since a visit last year. Looking into it, appears to be down to a change in onsite management as couldn’t quite put our finger on it whilst we were there last night. We just felt something was a little bit ‘off’. Ordered a burger and could only describe the patties as gritty, with the burger as a whole disintegrating the minute you picked it up. The flavours were good but it was sloppy. We’ve eaten here a few times before since the – can I add, excellent – refurb, and this just missed the mark and wasn’t quite up to scratch. It’s always been fantastic previously.
Service was also rushed. I get that it was a Saturday night and there’s an eagerness to turn tables but we weren’t there a particularly long time.
I hope these reviews are taken onboard as this is a favourite spot for us and it’d be a huge shame to see standards slip. This place is a gem and you could tell it was a passion project for the guys responsible for the refit.
I wouldn’t want to dissuade anyone from visiting as the atmosphere and experience is unique.
Just please sort out what’s going on with the food and bring it back up to where it was this time last year.

I can honestly say you can find big flavours and big food here. This place has those retro vibes and classic diner style seating. The food was incredible, with all the diner staples.
I ordered the Footlong Hot Dog which was massive, and it was gooood. The Onion Rings were battered and fried perfectly and the Giant Mozzarella Sticks are a must!
There are also some food challenges for you to try and if you can tackle the challenges in a certain time frame, you get to bag the meal for free and a shirt.

WOW! Did not disappoint! When you ask for a 50s American diner, you hope for the look, feel, authenticity.. Then the food, as good as it looked and then some. We went with friends for a birthday, booked a couple of days upfront, (recommended as not a huge place.) All left stuffed, attacked virtually one of everything on the menu approach, try it all. Found us doggy bags to take surplus home. Will be back soon. Not to be missed. Stellar!

We had a great experience here at the American diner . It’s best to book a table rather than just turn up. The atmosphere is very good and so is the music. They have done a great job of bringing that American vibe over to the UK. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. The food is absolutely fantastic, I had a Mac stack burger, the wife had a peanut butter and jelly burger and the kids had hotdogs and chips which is served in a cardboard car shape box. The milkshakes are really nice and was and we also had cream soda and root beer. I particularly liked that you can see the 2 chefs cooking all the food. The decor in the place is cool. Parking is free but limited. There is now an outdoor seating area too. I recommend this place as the food is really good and it’s a good experience. Great vibes and food
