Nostalgia lunch today. Just happened to pass through Puyallup about lunch time so I stopped in. As far as I know, there are only two remaining in the Puget Sound area. This and Silverdale.
I had a small chowder which was very tasty. The seafood platter was perfect. Small fried shrimp, fried clams, a chunk of Fish (tonight’s dinner) and perfectly done fries. The fish and fries are in the air fryer in hopes I can crisp them back up.
I’d go there more often but it is a 45 minute drive for me.

This was my first time eating at Skippers and I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean and everything was well supplied (napkins, condiments, cups, etc.). The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The food was made fresh and we only had a short wait. The clam chowder was served hot and very tasty, just like the fish. I really liked that the fish was tender, didn’t have a strong “fishy” flavor like poor quality fish, and wasn’t greasy. It’s too bad this is only one of two locations in Western Washington, because I had a much better experience than another seafood place in the area.

It is very cute inside but could’ve been a little cleaner. Food is very good though! Everything served hot and the clam chowder was amazing. I also got coconut shrimp and you get a lot of shrimp in your basket. Those were very good but the sweet chili sauce served with them tasted more like ketchup

Came here for lunch AYCE Fish and Chips, because why else would you go? After an hour drive, I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door. Both employees were awesome. They were busy cooking and cleaning during the lunch rush, always with a smile.
The clam chowder was hot and as good as always. My first order of fish and chips came out quickly and they happily got refills out just as quick. Food was great for the price. I’m glad they’re still here. Worth the hour drive.

It had been about 15 years years since we’ve eaten here because it was starting to be really run down though we did aways love the food, but my son wanted to try it so we gave it a shot and it was completely transformed. It had awesome decorations everywhere and everything was very clean. The staff incredibly friendly and really went the extra mile to get our food just right for my big family. The ketchup ran out but we didn’t say anything and they noticed and refilled it right away and then came over to let us know. The food for super hot and very good just like I remembered. We will definitely keep coming back again.

Y’all want the truth about Skippers? My only complaint are their spoons. They’ll cut up the side of your lips after a couple bites, but man, the food is dynamite! Me and my old man bought 2 #2’s for 16.99 each that come with three battered fish pucks, fries, a cup of chowder, a 16 oz drink, and coleslaw. We had to wait about fifteen minutes, but hey, you’ve gotta wait if you want quality fresh food. The fish came out hot and was crispy and flavorful, the fries were crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, the slaw was surprisingly delicious with a sweet and savory flavor, but let’s talk about the chowder for a moment. I describe it as more of a “clam gravy” more than chowder, but I licked my bowl clean it was so good. Also, dipping the fries and fish in the chowder is a complete game changer, I do recommend, but don’t shy away from their tarter sauce which is genuinely some of the best tarter sauce I’ve had at a seafood joint up here. If you see a Skippers in your area or if you’re just passing through and come across them on the map, I promise you won’t regret stopping. The service is friendly and welcoming, the food is a hit, and the prices are fairly reasonable too. Great job, guys

Good fish and chips!
Recipe seems to have stayed the same. Forgot some of my order when going through drive thru but all good. Went back actually 2 days later for the canned chowder to take home. Inside is old school and nostalgic.
Staff is friendly and quick.

There are only a few stores left, this one in Puyallup was very nostalgic for me. And the fish and shrimp are as tasty as I remember when from the past when the restaurants were more readily available.
Just one issue, the clam chowder tasted out of the pack and not enough milk or cream was added. Other than that, the food, and the two young gentlemen behind the counter were super helpful!
Can’t wait to return again, especially in Tuesday for their all-you-can-eat special!

There aren’t many Skippers left but I’m glad this one is still around. It’s always been one of the best! Anytime I’m anywhere near this location I try and stop here. I don’t ever want to see this place closed for good!
I always get the Skippers Platter combo which comes with fish, shrimp, clams, fries, coleslaw, clam chowder, and a drink. It’s always cooked fresh and delicious! It’s big enough to share with someone but if you’re hungry then it’s a nice little seafood feast.
Shout out to the workers here, too. They’re always fast and friendly and we love to see that!

The service was fast and friendly. I got my food served right to my table in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the lunch special: 2 fish, chips, chowder, cole slaw, and a drink for under $13. I didn’t need a fork for the fish because they were easy to hold and dip with my fingers. The fish was flaky, hot, and delicious. I was allowed to have as much tarter as I want. I ate that bowl of chowder like it was ice cream. The atmosphere was comfortable and not too busy. There was relaxing music in the background. Probably will go again next week to try the grilled salmon.
