Visited A2B in Pleasanton, conveniently located near the Livermore’s Premium Outlets. The service was fantastic and the food was great. This is their second location, the dine-in area felt a bit tight — seating per table and movement in and out of the bays was somewhat limited or had to wiggle in and out.
That said, everything else was excellent. I’d rate 4/5 for food, 4/5 for atmosphere, and a solid 5/5 for service. We asked for extra chutney and potato masala with our poori, and it was provided without hesitation. The staff was attentive and pleasant; special mention to Mr. Balu for the warm interaction. Will definitely be visiting again! Missed some items in their menu as it has been a while since we visited A2B. Welcome addition to cater to the growing community in East Bay area. Snacks from A2B are always a treat and reminiscent of memories from back home.

A2B in Pleasanton is a great choice for authentic South Indian vegetarian dining. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, with perfectly made dosas, idlis, and a variety of traditional meals. The restaurant is clean, modern, and family-friendly, with quick and courteous service. A dependable spot for enjoying homestyle South Indian comfort food in a relaxed setting.

The wait to be seated was too long and not well communicated. You need to order online but the data is quite poor. So you need to get on their WiFi to not lose your mind. After the order it took a very long time to get our food. The website does not indicate your order status. There were no spoons on our table. This place is very poorly managed.

The paneer Manchurian was rubbery and not prepared the traditional expected way of dredging it in batter and frying it. The benne dosa and the sambar vada were good and redeemed what little hope I had of this place. Waiting to pay was another ordeal.

The menu is insanely long. That’s a good or bad thing depending on how you see it.

It’s a nice, clean and fully vegetarian place to have tasty dosa in Pleasanton. Customer service was good. If you are sambar lover then order extra sambar on side as the amount of sambar served with dosa is not enough. You can either order through server OR can scan the barcode on table and order from phone and pay your bill same time or later. It saves a lot of time.

I was on a business trip to SFO and happened to visit the Livermore Premium Outlets over the weekend. Right across from the outlet, I spotted this Indian restaurant and decided to step in for breakfast.

I was warmly welcomed by the humble and friendly Master Chef, Mr. Ramdas V. He recommended their special weekend breakfast buffet, which comes with 9–10 authentic items, including unlimited poori and masala dosa, all for just $18. The taste instantly transported me back to Bengaluru!

What stood out even more was Mr. Ramdas himself. He’s an excellent host, fluent in multiple languages – Tamil, Kannada, Tulu, Telugu, and Hindi, and makes you feel right at home. He also suggested I return for their South Indian lunch meals after shopping. I did, and it was absolutely worth it , an authentic spread priced around $25.

If you’re in the Bay Area and craving the flavors of India, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a true hidden gem !!

A2B in Pleasanton is a solid Indian vegetarian spot near the Livermore outlets. The dosa was crisp and flavorful, and they offer a wide range of appetizers. The sambhar with the idli vada combo was especially tasty. Filter coffee hit the spot, and service was great too.

SHAME on OWNER!!! Their service is a chaos. Extreme cost cutting on staff. You order Dosa via QR code and wait for more than 45 mins. Masala in dosa is half boiled potato. Paneer Manchurian is diced paneer in ketchup.

And the owner is partying at home, leaving it to the staff 😀

I’m honestly surprised this place has such a high rating. My husband is South Indian so we check out South Indian places every weekend. This place is terribly managed. Most everything is meant to be ordered via a phone but the data service in this place is terrible. They offer WiFi since you wouldn’t have been able to do anything otherwise. The wait to be seated was super long even though there are open tables. When we sat, the table had just been cleaned and reeked of strong chemical cleaner. The mobile food menu was glitchy and confusing. The wait to get the food was ETERNAL. and eating was an unpleasant experience with the table radiating the chemical smell. For a cherry on top every table is supposed to be outfitted with cutlery, but ours didn’t have any spoons, napkins, or cups for water. Trying to flag someone down to get these things was impossible. We had to ask for our bill twice before just giving up and asking to pay at the front.
Food review: I got the sambar vada and found it painfully spicy. Even my husband struggled. My stomach suffered for hours afterwards. We also ordered paneer Manchurian and it was rubbery and chewy, tasteless. All of it was not enjoyable to eat.

I honestly don’t know what could have been worse. I guess the only pro I can think of is that noise level in the restaurant was fine.
