This was my parents go to spot when I was growing up. We would drive an hour and a half from home to eat here. Today my husband and I came for lunch. Very nostalgic for me. I ordered a puffy taco with a side of rice. For a fried taco it’s perfect. The shell is crunchy in a flaky way but not greasy. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall a great little lunch date with good food.

A nice cozy atmosphere and reliable Mexican fare that gets the job done. Pretty bland salsa, but generous portions and for once a Mexican establishment with thick, hearty refried beans (not the soupy stuff that seems to be all the rage). That said the service has been a bit spotty at times and while satisfying and tasty, the overall food quality won’t blow your mind. Better than El Magueys, not as good as Dos de Oros.

My wife wanted to come here. I’m not sure if I ever had margaritas I’m sure I have. Maybe 30 years ago.
I’m a chile relleno fan. I judge off that. However, the puffy taco tho? Oh man.
Relleno was different but wasn’t terrible. Small for the price I’ll give it that.
Puffy taco was great. its not a normal deep-fried and hard. It’s not soft but not hard.
Salsa was fine. The hot salsa was also decent. Good mix of both.
Also the green salsa Verde was decent.
The place is loud. They play 70s-80s-90s rock/alternative music.
If you have mesophonia it’s not the place for you. I’ll explain. –
The chips is huge!! And people have to triple chomp to even get a bite. So that part was terrible. But the music is loud enough to hyper focus on that.
So over all, the place is expensive, it would be ok to do a friend/ couple out for puffy tacos, margaritas and singing to Pearl jam.

The food was delicious. Customer service was great. They doubled down on checking on us. Tripled down on checking on us. So that wasn’t a problem. The food is a little bit too pricey for the portion. But still really, really good. Everything was fresh. The steak in the deep fried chimichanga. By far, the best that I had very moist thick flavorful refried. Beans, the dye for so I rate this a 9.5

I just left your restaurant on 9/17/2025 at 3:49pm and its 5:01pm the same day I’m back at my hotel. I’m here in the area on business and myself is in the food industry My order was shrimp/chicken fajita #123682 and what I was given that I paid for was aweful all the vegetables along with chicken and shrimp were burnt. I’m in the Kansas are a lot and never experienced food like this. I’m from Chicago were there is more than abundance Resturant that serves this and it would not be the case. I have eaten here as dine-in, in May and the food was good. This experience is not acceptable by any means. If I could give no stars I would.

First and foremost… I have frequented this restaurant many’s of times and often ask myself after I leave… Why do I keep coming back? I have never encountered a smiling face or anyone that seems happy to be at this restaurant. Especially! The old tired ladies that work the bar. I often get chips and salsa or chk tacos to go. (My fam loves the C&S) I literally had to argue with the bartender tonight about how much salsa comes with my 2 orders of chips and salsa. Which was $14! She tried to tell me someone has been “being nice” ( something she couldn’t be. Weird.) and giving me too much salsa. Nice try! Been coming here too long and tonight was my last. Take your money to Dos De Oros. More authentic, better quality and the staff is inviting and friendly!

Some good food, reasonable prices, adequate service (not the best, but certainly personable and attentive). I would have no problem returning or recommending the place. Not on the menu – but flavored margaritas (mango, raspberry, etc) which were a big hit with our party.

The service policy to not seat a full party when your dining room is only 25% full is stupid. My parents were 5 minutes away. They would not seat us. They said we could sit at the bar. I am recovering from a broken leg and the bar would not be comfortable. Since they would not accommodate us we took our business 1/2 mile down the road. The food and service was excellent. Too bad for the servers at Margaritas who lost out on making $100 in tips.
