We decided to try City BBQ for the first time today. We ordered a pound of smoked brisket and the bacon cheese fries.
To be honest, the brisket was a major disappointment. Maybe it was just an off day, but it had a strange smell and tasted more like leftover microwaved meat than fresh BBQ. I’ve had a lot of brisket in my life, and this just didn’t hit the mark for us, even the sauces felt alright, nothing special about them. There are definitely better local BBQ spots here in Fort Wayne.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the bacon cheese fries. The cheese really carried the fries and made them enjoyable, though the fries themselves were pretty standard. On a positive note, the staff were incredibly nice and the restaurant has a great atmosphere.

Excellent explanations of the menu by Hassie, even got a senior discount! Very affordable, generous portions.
We ordered a 3 meat sampler with 2 sides: brisket, chicken leg/thigh, and pulled pork, mac’n cheese, & hush puppies, with Texas toast. It was easily enough for the 2 of us, and we’re not light eaters. We also got to sample their smoked turkey, smashed potatoes with gravy, and apple cobbler. Everything was delicious. Both the brisket and pulled pork had the pink smoke ring and a yummy bark, the epitome of Pitmasters everywhere. Meat is smoked on site. Flavor was wonderful.
Hassie told us everything on the menu was good, and our experience agrees with her statement.
They have 5 sauces, loads of sides, offer sit down in a great family environment, carry out, and catering. If you like authentic BBQ, you’ll love City BBQ.

The service here is outstanding. I misunderstood the menu and ordered incorrectly, but they ended up even giving me the food that I had changed my mind on to go out of their way understanding I was a first customer and they wanted me to experience their menu. Wonderful team!
Most people would be upset if you changed their order at the last time, and these guys handled it with class! Food is outstanding and you must stop by here!

I ordered three meats and two sides brisket 3 rib bones sausage. I already spoke to someone after the survey so I won’t be terrible. The hash puppies were really good The sausage had a bite and it was extremely tasty and the bread was nice Everything else could have been better I reviewed this a year ago with wings they were terrible so I decided the barbecue I only suggest the sausage It hit the spot It was very tasty There were teenagers they came and brought me the food so I assume that they are the ones cooking and that is probably why things come out the way they do. Again I give the sausage 5 stars

When the advertisement right there at the restaurant shows one price for a “Motherload” but the cashier adds $3 for brisket, that’s a problem. Tried to explain to us that this new extra charge has been implemented not too long ago. The manager took it off when we raised the concern as everyone should. Customer service was good. Meat seemed a little dry. Not what it used to be.

This fast food/drive through restaurant is slow food quality, for sure! Some of the best barbeque in town. You can literally eenie, meenie, money, moe the menu and get a great meal every time. Better yet, share the sampler with a friend. My son and I always buy a bottle of the original sauce as well to use at home. The service is also top notch. Highly recommend.

This is our first time eating at this place. Service was very quick. We ordered 3 meat sampler, split between 2 ladies and 1 guy. Portion is definitely sufficient. The city favorite banana pudding didn’t disappoint. Just the right sweetness. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Had a wonderful experience today, went in and was greeted properly. Zen took my order he was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. I was iffy about the rub on the wings he gave a sample and it was a go. Then Evan too gave me excellent care of us thank you city BBQ for all your amazing service
