The owner Tu greeted us with a warm welcome. He was so passionate and informative when giving a brief intro to the menu. Our server Hailey was cheerful and excited about the food she was serving – you can tell she really loves working here. The overall vibes of the restaurant were so warm and inviting with a clean and bright atmosphere. The dozens of plants were beautifully kept. Towards the end of the meal we chatted with Tu and he shared some tidbits about how many of the recipes have been in his family for generations and you can just feel the passion his family has for sharing good food.
As for the food: We tried the Duck Bao buns (not pictured oops they didnt last long), the Spring Rolls, pork belly Banh Mi, Beef Pho, and the Saigon Salmon. Everything was truly delicious and prepared perfectly. We love Phò and this broth was one of the best I’ve had!! Very flavorful it didn’t even need any extra sauce added. The Bahn Mi was perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor. The House Fish sauce was a flavor punch and a perfect pairing to the hearty Saigon Salmon filet. All the portions were generous and they didn’t skimp on any of the additions like fresh Thai Basil, Cilantro, Jalepeno, Lime, and Sprouts.
Overall splendid will definitely be back!
Service was fun and sweet, owner came to chat and pointed out what dishes he made.
We came at a time it was empty, and the atmosphere between workers was fun and full of energy.
Service: 5/5 (Very Hospitable!)
Atmosphere: 5/5 (Extreme Beautiful, Breath taking, and Welcoming!)
If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than BON VIET Bar and Restaurant in La Porte, Indiana. This gem truly deserves every bit of praise! The moment I walked in, I felt a warm welcome, and I leaving with a huge smile on my face with a good full belly.
The food is simply delightful—each dish bursting with flavor and authenticity. I indulged in the Banh Mi, spring rolls, and even tried the Vietnamese coffee, which was amazing, along with a refreshing fruit punch. But the highlight for me was definitely The House Pho; the aroma that filled the air as I entered was captivating, peppery and sweet notes, and that first sip of broth was nothing short of transformative.
The service here is outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the menu, showing great patience with my questions, and offering a variety of enticing options. Both the servers and the owner clearly care about making every guest feel valued and appreciated.
The atmosphere is beautiful! As soon as you step inside, the charming decor, vibrant flowers, soothing live music, and inviting food aromas create a magical atmosphere that captivates your senses.
