“A little piece of our homeland” is how Don Pancho describes Palenque Grill®, the Ochoa family’s latest venture. It began in 2005 in Laredo, Texas, after Don Pancho’s long journey in the restaurant business. In 1975, he started with El Pollo Loco® in his hometown of Guasave, Mexico. The chain expanded across Mexico and then to the U.S., with Brad Pitt once handing out flyers. In 1987, he created Taco Palenque®, a successful Mexican fast casual chain. Don Pancho’s dream was always to open a full-service restaurant with live music, which he achieved with Palenque Grill® alongside his son Carlos in 2005. The Ochoa family plays a key role in the restaurant’s success, with family recipes on the menu. Palenque Grill® offers 100% Mexican food, …

at Palenque Grill in Laredo! The aguachile was unbelievably fresh with the perfect kick—super bright, tangy, and full of flavor. And the tuna tostadas? Absolutely delicious! The tuna was silky, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the crispy tostada.

The atmosphere was great, the service was friendly, and everything tasted top-notch. If you’re in Laredo and craving something fresh and flavorful, this spot is a must!

Palenque Grill has a really good atmosphere — nice place to relax and enjoy some food. I ordered the Volcanes, and they were honestly really good. For the price, they’re a great deal and definitely something you can share. I also got the Chipotle Chicken, which was delicious. You can tell they actually take their time preparing the food because the flavor and quality were there in every bite.

The only thing I noticed was the service was a bit slow at first. There were a lot of people, and only a couple of waiters, so I got forgotten for a little bit. But to be fair, I was eating alone, and my waiter was handling a big table of about eight people, so I understand why it happened.

Overall, the food was excellent, and I’m definitely coming back. I wasn’t even in the mood to try steak this time, but just based on the Volcanes and the chicken, I can tell the rest of the menu is probably just as good.

A very popular restaurant with the locals. Live music. I had a steak and shrimp entree. The steak was very good and the grilled shrimp excellent. Large menu of starters, Mexican specialties etc. Large selection of margaritas, cocktails, wine and beer. Service was very fine. Tres Leches cake was really good.

This restaurant was by far the best restaurant I have visited in Laredo Texas, I’m from Corpus Christi and encourage anyone visiting Laredo Texas to visit this restaurant… The food was stupendous but what’s really really took me was the desert, Flan… The waitresses were very very nice always attentive and the atmosphere is awesome…

I can’t believe what happened with my recent order. I specifically ordered a chicken soup, the only soup on the menu that includes chicken, and instead, I received a tortilla soup. It’s infuriating that I was charged for something I didn’t order.

The experience was made worse by the incredibly slow service. Despite the order being to-go, I had to wait an excessively long time. I called twice to inform them that I was waiting outside, yet I still had to wait for 20 minutes. This level of service is unacceptable.

The worst part of all was when I got home and realized the soup was wrong. I immediately tried to call the restaurant, but after five attempts with no answer, I had no choice but to wait until tomorrow to see what excuse they will offer. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I am extremely disappointed with the poor service and lack of attention to detail.

Well. Was very disappointed. Maybe here at bad time(lunch) but fajitas and shrimp came out cold! Rice and beens steaming hot but main dish sucked. I was really looking to finally eating here. Fajitas also were tough and tasteless. Almost like precooked and then just heated up really quick. Did not had satisfactory experience at all. And did I say Fajitas? Come on. How can they messed up fajitas!!?? Staff was good and place nice a clean. That’s why 2 stars.

I can only say amazing! The bartender, Javier was the best ever! The food was so flavorful. Everyone should try the Mango margarita. It’s not super sweet and is a perfect blend of sweet and spicy to excite your taste buds!

This is my favorite of the chain. Their bean dip and crispy tortillas are one of my favorite thing that they give you to much on while you wait for food. I’m sure it’s very basic but gotta say that bean dip is different from most others because I’ve tried to recreate it but it just doesn’t taste the same. No clue if they put in some lard or something else but it’s freaking delicious. The food itself is wonderful of course, I really their milanesa which is hard to pull off here because the meat for it in the US is much more thicker than the one from Mexico but it really taste like it came from the mother land. 10/10 no better dish unless you order something from the grilled meat section that never gets beat
