Absolutely delicious sushi at a fun restaurant with friendly staff. Everything I tried was delcious– the standouts for me were the salmon nigiri and the spicy tuna hand roll. I’ve been to a lot of sushi conveyor belt restaurants all over the place, and Sushi Ichiban is definitely delicious and a great example of what makes this style of restaurant great. In terms of quality, all of the nigiri I tried was made with high quality fish that tasted fresh and was nicely textured. This is my favorite sushi conveyor belt spot in Portland by a mile and I’m excited to come back again next time I’m in the city. One thing to note is that the neighborhood is unfortunately going through a rough time so walking around at night doesn’t feel great, but it was easy to park nearby and the restaurant itself is very clean and nice.

I have worked across the street from this place for years and I finally tried it. I’m am absolutely kicking myself for not trying it sooner. I get sad thinking about all the times I could have been eating this yummy sushi. The sushi tastes fresh and is sooooo reasonably priced. I ordered a boatload of sushi and it was only $20. This is my favorite sushi place now. Bamboo Sushi was my favorite before. The staff here are so friendly and it has low-light date vibes ambiance. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

Dope sushi joint with friendly people and a cute sushi track with toy train. I eat here alone on break and staff is always very kind to me. Delicious rolls, the salmon is the best in the city imo (if you account for flavor) and the presentation of each roll punches well above. They also serve ramen though I’ve yet to try it, it looked lovely. I’m in love with their spicy tuna too. Satisfying heat and plenty of fish. I will be a regular customer for sure.

This is a fun place to visit for sushi that comes to you on a train! You can also order ala-carte as well from a menu. Their food is good quality and has good prices. Don’t be shy to ask what something is, or ask for advice! They’re super friendly!

I first visited this location back in 2008 or 9. It was an amazing experience then, and it still is one of my favorite Sushi experiences anywhere in the country. I absolutely love the atmosphere, the staff is incredibly attentive and very eager to help and assist. The sushi was absolutely delicious and by goodness those prices! Me and my partner were able to practically stuff ourselves for $30. Can’t wait to come back again, hopefully it doesn’t take another 18 years before I can visit again.

The area is a bit sketchy, but we came by when the area was enveloped in the starlight parade. Was immediately greeted by a staff member who was highly motivated, but he was the only one. The remaining staff seemed as if they did want to be there. The food, however, was very good and we struggled through sticky counters and spotty service to enjoy decent sushi. Hard to say if we’ll return, but if you’re in the area, might be a good stop when you’re craving sushi.

Unsure if it was the owner or manager (the man with the red hat) who greeted us, but their hospitality was exceptional. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Despite it being after hours, he kindly offered to take additional orders before we left if we wanted. Coming from out of state, we’ve never experienced such quality like this.

Amazing quality for conveyor belt, the nigiri portions are hearty and the variety is always popping. The staff are great and super attentive too! Tonight the manager saw me grab a slice of cake and brought me a fork before I even realized I needed it I’ve also noticed very little turnover in the staff in the few years I’ve been going, so they must treat their people decent too! 10/10 would recommend, this is one of my husband and is favorite spots to bring guests! Never disappoints.
