For texture, it wasn’t buttery and airy. It was on the dry side and I ate it pretty early in the morning so it wasn’t sitting out long.
Every item there looked delicious but also expensive. Money isn’t an issue for me as I have a very good paying job, but I’m still smart with what I spend.
Without blinking, you can spend $20 on 3 pastries.
I probably won’t go back.
When you order loaves from them they can slice them for you right in the back. They’re quite a good price and always delicious. The coffees and iced teas are also great.
Parking tends to be quite busy, since there’s about 6 spots in front.
The coffee was warm, not hot, that I usually prefer, and they didn’t have WiFi, which was pretty odd. Overall, I loved the vibe of that place!
There is a parking lot out front that always had spaces, even on days when the cafe was packed. As walkers, we skipped parking and headed straight in. The first few days, we missed the sign indicating that one door was for going in and another was for leaving. No one was annoyed at our mistake enough to correct us, but using the right door made it a bit easier to get into the line that was there everyday.
There are up to three people working the counter, so the line moves along at a good clip. When it was our turn, everyone working there was helpful and smiling. Finding a table was a problem some days, but there is bar seating along the window, so we always had someplace to sit.
We tried a variety of pastries. The ham and cheese in puff pastries was our favorite savory item. I liked the apple turnover and my sister went for the pecan roll. Everything else we tried was good too. They also have sandwiches wrapped to go. We picked up a couple and enjoyed them for lunch.
I often go to coffee shops to work on my writing. There were always a few people hunched over laptops in Seven Stars Bakery. I am not sure how early they had to get there to get a table and few places had outlets to plug in. This cafe is more of a meet-a-friend-for-coffee-and-chatting place than a great-American-novel- writing place.
This place was impressive enough that we did not bother to look for any alternative spots in the area. There was always a crowd there to indicate that many people agreed with us.
There were many great pastry and sandwich options — it was hard to choose! Went with a cappuccino, egg and broccoli sandwich, and cheddar scone.
Will definitely return next time I’m in town.
