Me and a friend tried this location for dinner for the first time. For the appetizer we had the Grilled Chicken fingers. For the entrée I had the Ribeye Sandwich with fries. My friend had the Salmon with baked potato. Both entrées were delicious! My biggest surprise was how amazing the String Beans tasted! Man were they delicious! The service, and atmosphere at the bar was exceptional.

I have been going to this restaurant for years. Just noticed that the amount they charge you (sub total) is not correct. My bill today should have been 16.33 (food 12.99+ drink 1.99 +1.35 tax, which included (state 6%, Cayce 1%, and 2% CC fee). Instead my bill was 16.90 (15.50 food/drink+1.40 tax). Only a difference of .57 but, still not correct. My friend’s bill was also incorrect due to the sub total being higher than it should be. We did ask the waitress she said it had something to do with the tax. I don’t think she really knew why. I guess this is a good way to make money. Vella’s has been a staple in Cayce for years, if this is an honest mistake they need to get it corrected.

We’ve been coming here for years. We would come more often but for the drive from Lexington. Tasty fresh food. Sandwiches and wings are great. Also, consistantly fresh draft Yuengling, which we seem to have a problem getting at Lexington bars, including Wings n Ale and Goodfellows.

Atmosphere received 5 because of my personal preference. It’s dark, dated but clean. Are there some light bulbs out? Yes. Does that matter to me? In this case no. I looked around and see hard working people cleaning tables, a very friendly welcome upon arrival and received excellent service from Lexis.
I hear people laughing and see a fairly full bar for a Wednesday at 8pm making the atmosphere lively and up beat.
I ordered the prime rib sandwich that did not disappoint, was cooked as I asked and promptly served.
A highlight for me was the “raw potatoes” and home made ranch Lexis brought because she thought I’d like it.
Very happy overall – great to find a place away from home with a warm welcome.

**Update**
Since it’s been a year since our last mediocore experience here we went back again this past week for all you can eat crab legs. We were even more disappointed than before. I have never had crab legs so small at any all you can eat crab leg location in my life and I’ve been eating them for over 20 years. It was sad how small they were. Some of the claws were literally as big as my thumb. I have attached a few photos of the crab legs and these were not the smaller ones, these were the bigger ones we got.
We also had to chase down the staff several times and ask for more crab legs because numerous times there would be 5+minutes where we were sitting at the table with empty plates just waiting for more refills. The place wasn’t even that busy either.
If you are going to spend this kind of money on all you can eat crab legs definitely look elsewhere.

Luckily other staff stepped up and brought more out for us since they saw us waiting. Besides the slack waitress, everything else was great!

Spent 100 on lunch for the office and we threw most of the food away. The Chicken was not edible, the sweet potato was hard and undercooked, the salmon was rare, nothing was good about this meal. I called and was told to call later to speak to a manager, when I called later I was informed the manager was not available to speak with me. We typically order lunch from here for the offices once or twice a month. After seeing how little they care about the customer we will not be eating here again.

We enjoyed the Moday evening all you can eat crab legs and have visited 3 or 4 times. I recommend that you request seating away from the bar area if you are bringing children to the restaurant as it can get busy in the bar area. You have to walk through the bar area to get to the men’s restroom. We were not impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. We do not plan to return to Vella’s.

Enjoyed having dinner here multiple times! I love going here to get wings and I have taken many friends, as well as family members here. The atmosphere and building itself is dark and dated but it doesn’t bother most people during dinnertime due to it being dark outside as well. Depending on who your server is, you’ll have either amazing service or the bare minimum (experienced both). Overall recommend for a local dinner out.
