Visiting from out of town, and we loved this place. Lots of outdoor seating. The portions are enormous. We had 7 in our party, and no complaints from anyone. I loved the smoked turkey especially. You can order the brisket in lean or marbled…I chose lean, and it really was the leanest brisket I’ve ever had. I recommend getting the sauce on the meat, and then asking for more as you need. Good sides, specifically coleslaw and beans.

Excellent service and friendly staff. Decided to try the food based on recent reviews. Although I had better BBQ, I appreciated the options, the prices, and the atmosphere. Brisket was a little dry and the ribs needed more flavor, but it’s good for what you pay for.

Dine in after a field trip to the SA Zoo. Ordered the Rancher Tacos with Mac and cheese, a sausage link(which I cut up and put in one of my tacos) and the Chop Mac sandwich. Both are so delicious and super satisfying. You will leave FULL! Huge recommendation from me! Also, not that pricey.

Good food, brisket sandwich was great, sauce made it but there should have been more. Cream corn was okay, should be sweet. The peach cobbler was to die for! Nice place, probably good to watch sports or hang out with a group. Will have to return.

Our appetizer was brisket nachos. Had a very good portion of brisket. Was delicious. Our plates of food came with a large portions of brisket, chicken & sausage as well as sides. Mac & chz yummy! Brisket definitely the best brisket in San Antonio so far! All the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Augies bbq has been a staple of our family for a while even when we would go to the downtown steakhouse which is sadly closed. When we visit SA, last time we feed a few hungry Trinity college kids for lunch. It is close to the zoo and has beautiful scenery. Brekenridge train passed by while eating there. Friendly staff, great smoked meats, adequate prices. If you a foodie get some!

We were traveling through San Antonio and decided to stop here for dinner. 10 out of 10! They knocked it out of the park. Best BBQ I have ever eaten. The atmosphere is amazing and the hostess is so sweet! Would 100% come here again.

Augie’s is located within a 1/2 mile of the San Antonio Zoo, and Japanese Tea Garden. You can’t miss it with the flying pig logo!

This is a counter service place, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is what you want a BBQ shack to look like. Lots of wood and cool retro decorations. There was plenty of indoor seating, and a nice outdoor space for your family to eat.

There was a nice mesquite smell when you walked in, and there was a friendly chef greeting you as you went to order. I ordered the Texan Brisket Burger w/ Mexican Rice and pinto beans. My wife ordered the Brisket Tacos w/ potato salad, my son got the kid’s hot dog, and my friend ordered the Smokehouse Pulled Pork sandwich w/creamed corn.

The Texas Brisket Burger was really good. The difference of textures with the beef patty and brisket is what made it a good burger. The Brisket was moist and smoky. The Pinto beans were nice with little chunks of pork, and the Mexican Rice was flavorful.

My wife enjoyed the tender Brisket Tacos, and the Potato salad was really good. My friend really enjoyed the Pulled Pork sandwich and said it was one of the best they’ve had. The sandwich had nice chunks of pork which gave it some nice texture.

This is the perfect place to grab a bite whether you visit the zoo, or just enjoy the area. A great way to end my trip!

Was in the area and decided to give it a try. Ordered a brisket plate with beans and rice (recommend by the cashier). Inside was like a typical BBQ place with many eclectic signs and decorations. I sat down and in short time my order arrived at my table. The portions were nice and after a few bites I could taste and tell this was done right. The brisket was excellent, the beans were spicy just the way I like them, and the rice was like traditional Mexican rice. This plate came with 2 slices of bread, onions, pickles, a jalapeño, and BBQ sauce. Overall great place for BBQ.
