We have been to The Frog & Monkey several times but it has been a couple of years. This past weekend we brought friends there for lunch and while we loved it before, this time was less great. The first concerning issue was when my Mom wanted to order off of the kids menu, she was denied. At her age, she eats very little and typical adult or full portions is a waste of food. Because of this, we shared something, and that was Fish and Chips ($19). The fish was pretty perfect. Crisp and not oily. The second concerning things…The chips, were extremely salty. A little bit of salt goes a long way, and this amount took us into next week. My husband ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup($7) which was also quite heavily salted.
Service was fine, the restaurant was steadily busy and the noise level was just fine. While this wasn’t our best experience we will likely return and just make sure to request low to no salt.

Loved this pub! Best pint of Guinness I have had in awhile! The fried mushrooms were prepared in a unique way. Portobello mushrooms were used and I loved the sauce.
The fish, shrimp, and chips were excellent. The French onion soup was superb!
Thanks Maddie for giving superior service.

Best fish n chips. My fish was huge thankfully shared it with another person. It was so flaky, cooked perfectly and tasted so good. Mr. Husband had a french onion soup, his favorite. Honestly we’ve had better. He had a bacon cheeseburger. It was very good. We both said we would go back. Fun atmosphere. I had a fall white sangria before the meal and it was great, not too sweet with lovely fall flavors like apple and star anise.

Popped in for a snack – small house salad, order of the blueberry maple chipotle BBQ wings and the house draft. Very affordable, and excellent food quality. Bar service was excellent!

Cool spot, very laid back and jolly atmosphere.

Visited The Frog and Monkey in Mt. Dora and now I get why it’s a local favorite. It’s a cool little spot with a laid-back, tucked-away vibe—perfect for grabbing a bite and escaping the crowds.

I had the Ruby Burger, and it was seriously delicious. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and stacked with flavor. You can tell they know their way around a burger here.

We started with the beer-battered mushrooms, and they were a hit—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. Definitely recommend if you’re into appetizers that don’t feel like an afterthought.

Service was friendly, the food came out hot, and overall it was a great experience. If you’re in Mt. Dora and craving a good burger and some comfort food with a twist, this place should be on your list.

The Frog and Monkey in Mount Dora is an absolute gem tucked away in the basement of the historic Renaissance building. The ambiance is fantastic, blending a cozy pub vibe with a touch of mystery thanks to the building’s reputation for spirits—both the ghostly kind and the liquid kind! Word has it the pub might even have some friendly ghosts of its own, adding to its unique charm.

The drink selection is excellent, offering a wide array of cocktails, wines, and beers. There’s truly something for everyone. The food is equally impressive. I tried their wings with the house blueberry and maple sauce, and they were absolutely delicious—I had no trouble finishing every last bite! My girlfriend opted for the banh mi tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

The live music was a definite highlight, adding energy and fun to the already great vibes. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better.

If you’re in Mount Dora and looking for a spot with good food, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere (maybe even a ghostly encounter), The Frog and Monkey is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for dinner during our trip to Mount Dora for the Christmas lights and this place didn’t disappoint. It was really busy when we went, but this did not affect our still receiving excellent service. Our server, Madison, was very attentive, checking on us frequently and refilling ou drinks. Our order was also prepared with care and served quickly, which surprised me being they were so busy. Being our first time here, she offered suggestion that we went with and enjoyed. I started us off with the bruschetta appetizers and they were perfect. Next, I got the Cottage Pie (Shepherds Pie) that came with a side of vegetables and boy did I enjoy that. It was so good and the portion was perfect. My fiance had the Cheese steak sandwich with fried, and enjoyed that as well. The vibe at this place was lively and you could tell it’s a locals favorite. Pricewise it’s fair and not too pricy. With drinks and appetizer, our meal came out to about $25 per person. The place is a little more on the noisy side being it was full and busy,, but my fiance and I were still able to talk to and hear each other, so not to bad. If I’m the area, I recommend this place.

This adorable pub has a great vibe. Nestled amongst shops in Mt. Dora this is a homey pub. Lots of beer choices, bar food and cute decor. Florida doesn’t have too many venues where you go downstairs to eat and can see people stroll by, above you while you drink or eat. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Pricepoint is on the cheaper side for this area.
