The food here is phenomenal! We’re from out of state and this is the second time we’ve been here because the food makes a lasting impression. Great portions, 2 meals in one if you want. My husband and I both got the spicy shredded beef (wasn’t spicy, just very flavorful) and the stewed chicken (made with olives, great flavor). You’re missing out if you don’t get the plantains as a side, this place introduced me to plantains 2 years ago and they’re the best I’ve had so far!
I’m mostly leaving this review because the gal that helped us today was one of the friendliest people I’ve met! These cafeteria/ala carte style restaurants can be stressful because you have no idea what options you’re looking at. This worker was very patient with my husband and I, explained each dish, what flavors to expect, her go-to’s and offered samples of the meats we were interested in. She was very nice and understanding. The stewed chicken is made with olives and she noticed I made a face and assured me the flavor was still good, and when I did order it, she left the olives out for me purposely. She also recommended the fried yucca that I’d never had before, and it was very yummy! Thank you to the women with a black hoodie and hoop earrings, you made my day with your kindness, and my experience here very welcoming!

Wow! The food here is absolutely amazing! The portions are HUGE and the prices are super affordable. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can tell everything is made fresh. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole vibe just feels like home. Definitely my new go-to spot for Cuban food! Highly recommend you give them a try!

I have so many great things to say about this establishment. I’ve been more than a dozen times. Every single time the food impresses me. The service is amazing. The restaurant is always clean. They have some of the best buffalo wings I’ve ever had. The Cafe Con Leche is strong and sweet. My family moved to Ruskin in July and this is hands down our favorite restaurant in the area. We love you guy’s!

When I walked in the establishment it was nice and clean. All the food was behind the counter where you can see what you are eating. The servers was very friendly and nice. They asked us what we wanted and fixed it accordingly. Everything looked and smelled delicious I didn’t know what I wanted. It was my first time stopping to get something to eat, so I wanted to try it all. Once I decided what I wanted everything was fresh steamed and hot. Also I forgot to mention that when they fixed my plate they made it enough for two people. Once I got home everything that looked and smelled good on my plate was just that. I really enjoyed my dinner tonight for sure and full too. I have plenty of leftovers as well. I’m definitely going back to try the food that I didn’t get. I definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone to enjoy. I have no regrets.

I didn’t get more pictures of the food because of how fast we ate everything. My partner got the daily special half Cuban and soup, I got the Media Noche and two cheese& beef empanadas. We also got churros for her family to go, and the cashier gave me a sample of their boliche which was amazing. Everything here smelled amazing, when I ordered the empanada they had some ready but offered to cook some fresh if we had time. I took them up on that. It was all fantastic. 10/10 great place, amazing service. Plus they have a freestyle coke machine which offers a bunch of unusual drink options. The service was phenomenal. It was recommended by our airbnb and I think it was an amazing suggestion.

Food taste great. Portion sizes of entrees have shrunk. Not sure if that is a restaurant issue or their vendor. Baked Chicken is small. Make sure you specify you want a good proportion of beans to juice or you will have just juice. Otherwise, best place to get latin food in Apollo Beach

Since moving to the area, this has become my favorite new spot to eat! The ropa vieja is absolutely incredible — packed with flavor every time. The portions are HUGE and easily make two solid meals. Great bang for your buck!
