When Jesus Ayala came to the United States from San Jose de la Paz, Jalisco, he came with a dream that his family owned estilo de casa (homestyle) Mexican restaurant would grow. Two and a half decades later, Antonio Ayala has come to create his father’s dream to own and operate one of the most well-known and successful brand of Mexican restaurants in the south-eastern United States. The original La Hacienda (The Ranch), was established in Greenwood, SC. Over the years, strict attention and dedication has gone in to each restaurant to ensure that La Hacienda always provides a truly special Mexican dining experience.

We went to lunch on a Tuesday and were immediately seated. We were brought hot chips and salsa. The server was very attentive and the food was delicious. I had a lunch special – a ground beef quesadilla and cheese enchilada and rice. Just the right amount of food. I will definitely be back.

It wasn’t horrible, but it for sure was not good. None of it. I got the special nachos. The cheese sauce was more like a white-tinted water. And not a lot of it. None of my table mates were jumping up and down either. Really not great. Give this place a miss if you’re in the area and looking for a decent meal. Too many other options around.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place deserves a warning label. The food was downright horrible—completely flavorless, watery, and just sad. My nachos looked like someone dumped a can of soggy vegetables on a plate and called it a meal.
But the real kicker? A produce sticker was stuck to a pepper in my nachos. A sticker. In my food. That’s not just lazy, that’s a major health code violation. Clearly, nobody in that kitchen cares about basic hygiene or quality control.
Although the staff was nice, no amount of friendliness can make up for food this disgusting and unsafe. Save yourself the disappointment (and potential food poisoning). There are plenty of Mexican restaurants out there—literally anywhere else will be better than this disaster.

Their menu is different than typical Mexican restaurants, they have more items that I never eaten before. I had shrimp and chicken fajita, they were fresh and delicious and It’s vegetarian friendly as well. Another thing to note is their rice is not dry and you can sub with black bean if you don’t like refried bean. I definitely will be back to try their other menu thanks to my boyfriend who recommended and took me there.

I really enjoyed this Mexican restaurant! They have their own style! Nice atmosphere and great service! I had a new dish Quesabirria tacos with 3 corn tortillas filled with beef brisket which was super tender and onions and cilantro with dipping sauce and a side of refried beans and rice. It was delicious! I will definitely have to try more of their delicious food dishes. Ok tried the beef quesadilla and burrito Supreme with a side of veggies…..still delicious! Texas rice was delicious! Pineapple fajitas was good. Empanadas are good too! Cheese Steak burrito was delicious!

This was the WORST Mexican food I’ve ever had! No seasoning on the meat, order was wrong, no flavor on anything & the portions were small. We ordered extra steak & as you can tell by the photos, it would have been smaller portions had we not ordered extra. We paid the $59 check and are now on our way to another restaurant to actually eat dinner!!! We couldn’t eat it due to the complete lack of flavor! We will NOT be back! No idea how they are rated so high! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Great place! Great Mexican food, just down the street from a Pilot truck stop. I bob-tailed to the restaurant after a long night of work & 11 hours of driving, great food is much appreciated. The service was on point just like the food and location. It’s was a very quiet and relaxing experience. Don’t leave without trying one of their delicious desserts. My waiter was the best sorry I didn’t get his name. Thank you hacienda for your delicious food.

There is extensive menu available. There is also a good selection of alcoholic beverages. The food is good with generous servings. I wish there is more non-alcoholic drinks like horchata and fruit juices. The price is very reasonable but service was what stood out. The waitress was very attentive. She nailed it.

I usually have a GREAT experience here but this time not at all. The chips were EXTRA GREASY, the cheese dip was watery, the tamales were tough, had to use a knife to cut it. And our waiter acted like he was in pre k…….I had to order a water 3 times, and had to ask for napkins 2 times. I ordered an extra appetizer cause I was still hungry since I couldn’t eat my cheese dip and he brought it to go and I still had a full glass of alcohol. Smh idk
