Inside, the vibe is pretty fun. It’s casual and laid back but with just enough energy that it feels lively. Music playing, people talking, but not so loud that you can’t hear the person across the table. I thought it struck a good balance.
Service was solid from start to finish. Our server was friendly, got everything right, and checked in at the right times without hovering. For a first visit, that’s exactly what you want — you get a feel that the place runs smoothly and the staff know what they’re doing.
The pizza itself was tasty. The wood-fired crust had a nice chew and just enough char to give it that smoky flavor. Toppings tasted fresh, and everything came out hot and well put together. Definitely felt like a step above your average pizza chain.
The only real downside is the price. It’s not crazy expensive, but it is a bit on the higher side for pizza. Worth it for a treat or if you’re in the mood for something better quality, but probably not a weekly go-to for me.
All in all, good food, good service, plenty of parking, and a solid first impression. I’d come back again.
Our $25+ pizza came out with very little toppings and completely burned on the bottom. All you could taste was the burnt crust, I think I might have had one piece of chicken on my slice. Very disappointing. Also, you can tell It’s been a while since they’ve cleaned their stove, because of all the ash and soot on the bottom of the pizza.
We also ordered two burgers tonight, one had no flavor the other was just fine. The fries were good.
It didn’t appear busy tonight, so I felt like our service was not up to par. Our waitress said she was new, so I’m giving her a break. She was friendly and professional just very slow. We had to ask for refills of our drinks, we had to ask for napkins, we had to ask for silverware, we had to ask for sauces that went with the cinnamon sugar bread sticks – you know, the basics. Very disappointing visit. Way overpriced for the quality of food and service at this place.
Food ☆☆☆☆- The spicy food packed a serious flavor with impressive depth and fun flavor combinations i would never have considered. Brought some home for wife who does not like spicy food and she loved it too.
Service ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ – Suni made the entire atmosphere a thousand times better. She was literally my favorite server I’ve ever had. She was welcoming, accommodating, genuine in her kindness, and when we asked for suggestions she was very excited to give input on her favorites and what seem to be the local favorites. Her excitement even unsold us on additives and my friend who always gets the same thing was eager to switch it up.
This was my first time at the Rock. I feel like there are a million places to get really solid food. But Suni made me want to come back to the Covington Rock more. Ill be looking to be in her section *every time*.
The pizza and bread was so over cooked that it is in edible. The cook had to have noticed
But sent it out on a pick up order anyway
Thank you
