The Grounded Bohemian
Located in Homewood, Illinois. I had the tacos, two ground beef and one chicken. The beef were great, although they do not have hard shell, only corn or flour soft The chicken is not shredded, but sliced and it was a bit chewy. The price for the tacos was great and they were large so I could have just had the two beef tacos and would have been happy. We also ordered the deep fried Brussel sprouts, which were tender and delicious. They also have Reuben Egg Rolls, which I didn’t try but will if I ever get back there. To drink, I had the Yeungling Lager and it was very tasty.

The service here has been really good, and it does get really busy here at times. They have a lot of TV’s, so it’s a good place to watch sports games if that’s your thing.
I would give the food 4 stars. It’s a good value and most of the items I’ve tried have been good. The burgers are usually good. I don’t like the awesome sauce on the OG Smash burger, so I wouldn’t pick that one again. Also, the smash burger didn’t really have a smash burger feel. The patties were still really thick. And there was one time where it tasted like my burger had absolutely no seasoning on it. But most of the time, the burgers are good. I wish they offered a single patty burger or just a smaller sized burger for the times when I’m not trying to eat such a big burger.
The wings were good and a good value for how big they are. I might order these again to try some of the other sauces.
The fries, curly fries and tater tots are all good. I did not enjoy the homemade hot chips at all. They were soggy/soft when I got them. I like my chips crispy, and these weren’t crispy at all. The chips also came with ranch. I’m a ranch lover, but their ranch wasn’t for me. My spouse really loves the fried Brussel sprouts.
Things go downhill for me with the cocktails. I’ve tried at least five drinks on their cocktail menu and they’ve all been terrible. Like 0 stars out of 5. I always end up disappointed that I spent $15 on a subpar drink. The drinks sound really good when you read the description on the menu. But then they never live up to it. In my experience, I can usually taste the strong alcohol in the drink, but no other flavor. I like my cocktails to have some flavor besides the alcohol. So I would personally skip the cocktails here.

Stopped in at Lassens Tap before a concert to eat and relax with friends, only to discover they no longer make my favorite shrimp Po’boy sandwich! I was shocked in fact, the entire menu has changed.
I decided to roll with it and ordered their nachos, which were deliciously crafted, along with their spicy tacos. Unfortunately, no substitutions were allowed, so I had to go with the corn tortilla. The tacos get a 4/10 from me; flavorful, yes, but small and a bit skimpy. It felt like I was mostly eating crunchy chicken strips.
If the parking lot is full, be prepared to park farther away and cross a busy street. Our waiter gets a 5/10, and the atmosphere a 5/10 — though I will say, the bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus.

Lassens is one of our favorite spots that is local to Homewood. The food is so flavorful and different from your normal bar food scene. The Reuben egg rolls are so dang good. We have to get them every time we go but the absolute MUST is the sausage pesto pizza. It is such an amazing bite of pizza. The dough is light and has a great chew. The sausage is delicious, crumbly and the pesto sauce just brings it all together. They have amazing burgers, sandwiches, wings, you name it. Highly recommend taking a visit here. You will not be disappointed.

Recommend by a coworker and was not disappointed. The lemon drop was one of the best I’ve had. Wings were huge and delicious. Husband had the brisket egg rolls and a the turkey club and both were equally as good. Will definitely be back. The prices were great for the portions.

We came here for my husband’s birthday after he said he wanted wings. We sat outside in the patio. It was busy even on a Wednesday night, but not too busy. We were sat right away. My husband and teenage sons got the wings, and I got the chicken pesto sandwich with the brussel sprouts. We also got cocktails. The food was heavenly. My kids ordered 15 piece because they’re used to small wings at other places. Needless to say, even an 8 piece would stop the appetite of a teenager because the wings, boneless and traditional, are huge and meaty. The flavors were so good, the service was perfect, the cocktails were strong. We had the best time, and can’t wait to come back!

Went for lunch and parking is limited, although we found a spot with no problem. They have a beautiful old-fashioned, long bar and even though there were several tvs going, you could easily hold a conversation. The staff was very friendly, right there to take your order but didn’t rush us at all. Now the food…the best nachos I’ve ever had at any restaurant. The menu had a lot to pick from, I wasn’t wild about my Orange Chicken but that was me…spicy but I thought kind of side should have come with it. Their pulled pork sandwich special looked delicious, next time! Definitely worth a visit.
