LOVE this place. Claudia was wonderful and we had great service. I tried the lavender fields drink and the beef medallions… wow they were 10/10. The Japanese buns were so soft and I love that they had fried green tomatoes on them. We were so happy with our visit and will certainly be back to try dinner

Not pictured was the fried mahi-mahi they were serving today because my mother devoured it, but she said it was amazing

My wife and I visited on Valentine’s day. Very busy as to be expected. They were cramming people in where there was barely enough room to get in between tables. My wife ordered the ribeye medium-well, and I ordered the prime rib special. Caesar salad and fried asparagus were great. The ribeye was burnt on the outside, and rare on the inside. The prime rib was medium-well. I asked for some au jus because it was very dry and was given a cup of grease. The meal left much to be desired, especially for the price.

5 Stars plus plus. Earned and deserved for sure.
Although visited Cullman before and had the good and not so good experiences around town, this stands out very high and tall among others. It’s like stepping into a different time zone.
Had a really nice welcome from the minute I arrived to the minute departed. Ann is super nice with her recommendation from start to finish.
My food tasted like explosion of flavors. Can taste the herbs and spices in every bite. Pasta was perfect and I actually finished it all 🙂
If you’re in town, you gotta stop by this place. Take my words for it.

After attending the Ultimate Fishing Expo in Cullman, Alabama, we searched for a highly rated local spot for lunch and landed on 412 Public House, located at 412 2nd Ave SE, Cullman, AL.
The place was packed, but we lucked out and snagged seats at the bar. For an appetizer, we ordered the Wonton Nachos ($17). The dish features crispy wonton chips layered with pepper jack cheese, marinated cabbage, jalapeños, banana peppers, and a drizzle of sweet Thai chili sauce, topped with your choice of chicken or shrimp, we chose chicken.
These wonton nachos were easily one of the best nacho-style dishes I’ve had in a long time. The wonton chips provided a unique and flavorful base, and combined with the sweet chili sauce, freshly grilled chicken, and melted cheese, the flavors were absolutely on point. Every bite delivered.
Cajun Rating:
A must-try appetizer if you find yourself at 412 Public House.
For my main course, I chose the Gouda Burger, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. This burger features an 8 oz hand-pattied beef patty topped with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, spicy ranch, and melted smoked Gouda cheese, all served on a buttery brioche bun.
As you can see from the images, this burger was cooked perfectly. There was a beautiful Maillard reaction around the edges of the patty, which really amped up the flavor and added a nice crust. The smoked Gouda paired incredibly well with the beef, giving it a rich, slightly smoky finish that made every bite delicious.
I opted for the roasted Brussels sprouts as my side, and that was another great choice. They were well-roasted, flavorful, and complemented the burger perfectly.
Cajun Rating:
Between the appetizer and the main course, 412 Public House absolutely delivered a top-notch lunch experience.
The restaurant was clean and well maintained, including the restrooms, which is always a big plus. The wait staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about both the menu and the drink offerings, making the experience even better. From the food to the service and overall atmosphere, 412 Public House earns a well-deserved five-star review today.
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Me and a friend got the burgers and split them. Both were really good—hard to pick a favorite between the smoked gouda and pimento burger! Fries were amazing—perfectly crispy and potato-y! Great spot in downtown cullman!

We dropped by here on a whim on our way back to Birmingham.

Zero regrets. The brunch (this was a Sunday at around noon I think) was delightful. My spouse said the shrimp & grits was phenomenal. The two cute older ladies next to use had the eggs Benedict (it looked great and she confirmed that) and the chicken and waffles and I was real tempted to distract her and take it off her plate. I have a good reason to go back and try it.

The staff is really nice and attentive. The space is beautiful and has some of the nicest restrooms I’ve ever seen at a restaurant (and clean too!) (My wife confirmed the women’s room was really nice!)

Needless to say, this isn’t a restaurant you expect to find in Cullman, AL. I am glad it is there and hope it will draw others in. It was easy to get to and gave us a good reason to explore the area a little.

412 Public House has never disappointed. I’ve been here for both Sunday brunch and dinner, and every visit has been consistently great. The food is solid across the board, but the wonton nachos appetizer is a must-try—perfectly crispy, flavorful, and great for sharing. The bartender knows what they’re doing and makes excellent drinks every time. On top of that, the service is always friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It’s one of those places you can count on for a good meal, good drinks, and a great overall experience.

After researching all the restaurants in the area, 412 Public House stood out—and it did not disappoint! I usually go for steak or salmon, but the tacos on the menu caught my eye. Let me tell you, these aren’t your average dry steak tacos—they were incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. The meat was so tender it left a savory trail of juice across the plate.

As a fry lover, I can happily say they were solid! And the drinks? Spot on. I had recently been let down by an Old Fashioned at another spot, but Jeremy, the bartender at 412, absolutely nailed it. Smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted.

The bar was buzzing with regulars, always a good sign when locals keep coming back. For great food, expertly mixed drinks, and friendly conversation, 412 Public House is a must-visit.

I’ve eaten here twice and it has become my favorite restaurant in town. By far, the best food I’ve had eating out anywhere around. Other reviews have gone in way deeper depth than I will here, but I’ll just second what I read in another reviewer’s post. Wonton nachos is a must try. Absolute must!

Try this place, you won’t regret it!

The food and service are both excellent. I would recommend getting on the waitlist. It’s a smaller restaurant but worth the wait and the trip.
