Delicious hot and fresh food. Friendly service and the atmosphere is very relaxed and like just eating at home (if home was a British pub). Full bar, beers on tap, and a small but well executed menu. We enjoyed their fresh crunchy onion rings, Irish boxtys, fish and chips, and the bangers and mash. Everything was fantastic. Would definitely return.

Shepards pie, mac and cheese, and onion rings were all so good. Great vibes here if you are looking for a place for great food, nice bartenders, and the occasional puppy that comes through. Beer cheese with pretzel also good. Great happy hour too for the area.

Walked in for the interest of the history behind the bar and received the warmth and welcoming nature of the staff and owner. Enjoyed the King Fish N Chips that is completely shareable with a date.

The aesthetic does bring you back to 1864. The location is also pet friendly, regardless of pet size essentially.

Definitely coming back when in the area again.

I’m a Brit who’s starting to crave food from home so my boyfriend offered to take me. The fish and chips were bang on I can’t lie, the chips themselves were 1000/10. The place literally feels like I’m transported back to my local at home. Only issue would be I wouldn’t recommend the potato skins wasn’t as cheesy as I like but that’s a personal issue and we did arrive when they had just opened and the staff were super friendly and everything is very reasonably priced. I’ve been asking restaurants I go for cider and it’s always just not right, but I think it was strongbow they had, was brilliant. Worth the drive 100%

After seeing this place for awhile, I decided to go check it out. Please know up front, I have spent very little time in British Pubs. The place looks like a hole in the wall. That is a good thing. It would be what I would imagine a old British pub would be. I like the decor. I was sorry to see the place was practically empty so I did not get the full experience. I sat at the bar because there did not appear to be any servers.

I ordered a cider. Bartender seemed friendly enough. I decided to order dinner and asked for the fish and chips. First off, the menu is a single page. When you look on the website, I swear the website has more items and the website prices are way off from current menu prices. I got my food in a very reasonable amount of time and it did not look bad. The only thing that surprised was the inclusion of peas on the plate. I took a bite out of the fish and it seemed fine. It was fried and hot, nothing special. I got a little bit further and I noticed the consistency of the fish was very strange. I have had enough fried fish to know what it should look and taste like and this was not right. It was warm but not hot like the outside of the fish so my guess is it was under cooked. The fries were OK and nothing special. I did not try the peas. I do have to say that the tartar sauce they use is probably the worst I have tried in a very long time. I ended up leaving the fish and just finished some fries.

Now this bar is located on Atlantic Avenue just outside of the normal tourist area but still a swanky area. I have been to several of the bars on Atlantic and I know what other bars charge. When I got my bill I was a little surprised to see my pint of cider was $10.

Now the question is, would I go back? No. If an British Pub can’t get fish & chips right then it is not a place I would return to. Now I did like the atmosphere and I imagine with a crowd and some live music this place would be a lot of fun.

Absolutely most amazing place I have bumped into. My sec visit and the place was still welcoming. The staff and patients were a great time. Relaxed and inviting, ordered dinner that I had to ask them to take it away because it was just that amazing I was full but couldn’t stop eating. I recommend this for a relaxing good time before the walk.

Service: Excellent
Atmosphere: Excellent
This review is based on not having ordered food. The bartender and general atmosphere was excellent. Very friendly and expedient service, and even the two host dogs were great to be around. Definitely a place I would need to visit during the evening to check out the dinner atmosphere. Would even need to visit during Saturday mornings during soccer events. Great history about this bar, definitely a nice place to visit for a drink or two.

This place has a laundry list of health violations. I wouldn’t eat here if my life depended on it. Rodent droppings, smeared Rodents on the wall, dishwasher sanitizer doesn’t work, bad odor in walkin cooler. Rodent droppings.. this place needs go be shutdown and gutted from the inside out. Disgusting!
