My favorite place to eat barbecue!
Awesome old school country style restaurant that serves mouth watering, delicious smoked barbecued beef, chicken, and pork in ample quantities for great prices.
Awesome hot and mild barbecue sauces on the side.
Excellent potatoe salad, coleslaw, tea, old fashioned sodas, ice cold beer, and serve-yourself sides.
Every menu item is excellent.
Also has an old fashioned country store with lots of goodies, keepsakes, snacks, candy, and cold drinks.
And; they sell fuel.

I drive by Ruby’s almost every day in Norman on OK-9. I always thought I needed to try the place, but just kept saying “I will next time”. Well, yesterday I decided it would be the day to finally try it. And I am sorry to say, that I am so disappointed that I kept pushing off trying their food. It is amazing. I ordered online so that I could just pick it up through the drive through. Transaction was easy, and my food was ready fresh and fast. The 2 pound smoked potatoes topped with moint brisket was insanely good. And the beans? Best I have ever had. It was so good, I made another order on my way home from work today, because I could not wait to have their food again. I am hooked, and will order frequently!

I truly wanted to like this place, but after multiple visits to Rudy’s BBQ in Norman, Oklahoma, I’m done—and frankly, I’m concerned for anyone who eats here.
First, the basics: **no staff wear name tags**, which immediately feels unprofessional and makes accountability nonexistent. That alone sets a bad tone, but it’s the kitchen situation that completely crosses the line.
On every single visit, there has been an older man cooking in the back with a large white beard, visibly sweating, and handling food with his bare hands. No gloves. No hair net. No beard net whatsoever. Watching someone with an uncovered beard leaning over food, touching and preparing it repeatedly, is unsettling and unacceptable. This isn’t a one-time observation—it’s a consistent pattern we’ve personally witnessed over and over again. The lack of basic food-safety practices directly affects both the quality and safety of what’s being served.
What makes this even more frustrating is that the servers and order takers are fantastic. They’re friendly, efficient, and clearly doing their jobs well. Honestly, they are the only reason we gave this place multiple chances. Unfortunately, great front-of-house service can’t make up for what’s happening behind the scenes.
At this point, after repeatedly seeing what appear to be ongoing health code violations, we will not be returning. We also feel compelled to contact the health department, because this level of disregard for basic sanitation should not be ignored.
It’s disappointing, because this place could be so much better. But until basic hygiene and food safety are taken seriously, Rudy’s BBQ is not somewhere we’re willing to eat again.

I love the country setting very spacious and great food. Love the sauce names and they are both delicious one is spicy one isn’t. We took the food to go but if I had more time I would have stayed to eat in the restaurant.

Having been a KCBS bbq judge I’ve had the pleasure of tasting some of the best bbq Oklahoma has to offer. Their quality is consistently excellent! I’ve been to both locations in Oklahoma and they are both fantastic. My favorite is the moist brisket. If I was served this while I was judging they would have been in the top every time. Smoke, tenderness without falling apart, flavor, all spot on. This is our goto for family events when I don’t want to spend hours watching a smoker. I’ve never been disappointed. Give it a try.

Delicious! They have a great variety to choose from! We got Sausage, brisket (asked for it to be chopped), half a bird and a turkey sandwich. Ha no pictures of the food, because we were too hungry to stop for a photo. Great service as well! I highly recommend & you betcha we will be back!

Only problem was the bacon in my breakfast taco wasn’t cooked. They refunded my transaction but id recommend a check before you take off I’ve had the opposite issue where the bacon was completely burnt where that was all you could taste. When it’s right it’s great but definitely do a once over for yourself

The food was delicious and fast. My order was ready before I even finished paying for it. The spicy chop is a great sandwich, but their smoked turkey is outstanding.

I was extremely pleased to see the same layout and amazing taste to the food and complements to the amazing service and friendliness of the staff.
