Our first time in Key West, and this was our very first meal. Strolling down Duval Avenue, we came across this place and were impressed with the menu. So we went in without a reservation, hoping to get a table for two. There was a lot to like about this place, but unfortunately the execution fell short.

Food:
We weren’t very hungry, so we ordered several appetizers, which I personally love since it allows for more variety. We started with two specialty cocktails: the Private Label Old Fashioned and the Bubba Salted Caramel Martini. And when they say salted, they really mean it. It looked like the glass had literally fallen into the salt tray. I ended up wiping most of it off with a napkin. That said, the flavor of both drinks was good.

For food, we began with the Zucchini Fritters, which the server said were a local favorite. They were very tasty, but the presentation was a mess. The tzatziki looked like it had been smeared across the plate without much care. The fritters themselves were nice and hot, flavorful, and paired well with the cool, refreshing sauce.

We followed that with the Grilled Octopus and the Ahi Tuna Gravlax. The octopus was nicely grilled, tender, and served at a good temperature, although the chickpeas were a bit bland. Again, the presentation lacked attention to detail. The ahi tuna, however, was excellent in both flavor and presentation.

Service:
We didn’t have reservations, but there was first-come seating on the second floor, and several tables were open. Unfortunately, the service throughout the meal was very spotty. After being seated and receiving water, we waited about 10 minutes before the server returned with menus and took our drink order. The drinks also took some time to arrive. After our food was served, we didn’t see our server again for quite a while. We felt largely forgotten, and other nearby tables appeared to be experiencing the same thing. The server was friendly and pleasant, but didn’t seem particularly attentive or engaged.

Atmosphere:
The space itself is charming, with multiple seating areas and nice views of the activity along Duval Street. We had a secluded spot on the second floor, which was very pleasant. There are bars on both floors, and the overall energy was lively. It was occasionally loud, but not so much that it interfered with conversation.

This could have easily been a place we would have returned to. Unfortunately, the inconsistent service and lack of attention to presentation made it fall short. This restaurant generally receives strong reviews, so perhaps it was just an off night. I also noticed afterward that the octopus dish previously included two tentacles (based on photos from last fall), but now only includes one. It’s unclear whether the price was adjusted accordingly.

There are plenty of excellent restaurants in Key West, and unfortunately this one didn’t make our list for a return visit.

Nine One Five served up small plates in an intimate setting. As a vacationer in Key West, it was one of the more expensive places I ate as a solo traveler. My cozy seat at the bar was met with fast service. In hindsight, I should have ordered both small plates to arrive at once to provide variety. I got the carpaccio topped with some (truffle?) aioli. It didn’t wow me but was solid. I requested some bread to go along and was given stale crostini. Disappointing, considering I needed the pallet cleanser. I also got the general Tso’s cauliflower. It was a hearty portion but probably best shared with friends in addition to other flavors. The Oreo bread pudding was delightful! This being said, it was a single portion size for me, making it feel a bit pricey. Plus, I was expecting crunchy bits from the “cookie” element, which would have been nice. Overall everything was solid, maybe just lacking a little wow factor in flavor for this seasoned critic.

I love good suggestions, and when she told me I was really going to enjoy this place tonight, she knew she was going to nail it. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home.

I started with a jalapeño margarita, which sounded exciting but didn’t quite hit the mark for me, so I switched to a local beer that paired nicely with the food. Speaking of food—the bacon-wrapped dates stole the show at our table. They were such a hit that we ordered a second round.

The mussels, beet salad, octopus, and ribs all came out well prepared and flavorful, each one offering something different to enjoy. Everything was satisfying enough that we didn’t even have space left for dessert.

Overall, it was a memorable evening with a mix of flavors, great company, and plenty of reasons to come back.

We stopped in while exploring Key West and overall had a nice experience. The atmosphere was absolutely adorable — super cute, cozy, and definitely the kind of place you want to sit and relax for a bit. The food itself was decent; nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable and exactly what you’d expect for a casual spot. The service was good, everyone was friendly and attentive without hovering. Drinks were solid too — tasty, well-made, and came out quickly.

All in all, a cute place with good vibes, good service, and decent food. I’d come back for the atmosphere and drinks alone!

For those who spend their lives traversing the globe in search of the perfect bite, the “great” often becomes the enemy of the “exceptional.” However, every so often, a venue emerges that doesn’t just meet the standard—it resets it. My first and recent visit to 915 (Nine One Five)in key west was one such rare alignment of the stars.
The Artistry on the Plate proved that
the chef’s skills weren’t merely proficient; they were transcendent. In a world of over-complicated decisions, the kitchen here displayed a profound respect for the ingredient, elevated by precision.
Every plate was uniform, every emulsion was stable, the work suggested a level of discipline found only in the world’s most elite kitchens.
The ambiance managed to achieve the impossible: it felt gracious and grand without being stuffy, and it gave hints of privacy while you were still involved in the hustle and bustle of Duval street.
Service can often feel transactional, but here, it was impeccable.
The Verdict: For the global traveler who has seen it all, this isn’t just a meal—it’s a reminder of why we travel in the first place. It is a seamless fusion of technical mastery and genuine hospitality.

This was a really good spot, we came after the beach and the pastas were all so delicious and light and well portioned. The crab ravioli was yummy, and the paperdelle usually feels heavy but this one was soo good and light somehow. The truffle sauce was so good too and the KEY LIME DESSERT OH MY OH MY. That took the cake literally it was my favorite key lime of this trip. Oh wait the zucchini fritters are also a must.

Out of this world dinner this evening at Nine One Five! Service great, food and beverages amazing, ambiance chic Key West. It’s not a big place, but that’s the key! Found online from reviews, and so glad we found it! Dani was our waitress, 10/10, thank you ma’am! Cocktails (martinis) were great, followed by a great Pinot Noir… solid wine list at this place… best we’ve seen in Key West so far!

Appetizers include the mussels, from New Zealand… HUGE and delicious! The ahi tuna carpaccio was equally delightful! Entrees include a full fish yellow tail and the filet with fries… both amazing! Best fries we’ve had in years! Dessert was the key lime bar, different but perhaps the best key lime presentation in Key West! Highly recommend Nine One Five!

If you’re looking for excellent food and homemade pasta, where the locals go, this is your spot!

Restaurant is two stories with a bar downstairs and upstairs there’s indoor and outdoor seating plus bar seating.

If you’re looking for the number one bartender in Key West, ask for Heather!! she is rated number one in Key West Magazine and lives up to the hype.

We had a great meal at Nine One Five. The drinks were some of our favorite from the weekend, the food came out quick, the service was awesome and ambiance was great. The Ahi tuna was great and would get the swordfish special again.
