We had a great experience at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was delicious and clearly made with care. We did notice the flavors were slightly different compared to their other location, but everything was still very enjoyable. Overall, a solid visit and we’d definitely come back.

Great dining experience. Great food atmosphere. Our server Teresa was very attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Food was served in a timely manner what is very important for us dining with a toddler. We loved variety on both food and drink menus!

We love Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen on Woodway! The food is always delicious (we enjoy the Mexico City, Donna, Refugio, Guadalajara, Crystal City, and Morelia enchiladas), and the staff makes us feel right at home.
We even celebrated my dad’s 100th birthday here in June with 50 guests, and everything – from menu planning with Juan to the beautiful set-up and attentive service – was perfect. I received many compliments and comments about the food and friendly service.
Whether for a celebration or a casual dinner, Juan, Nicholas, and the whole team always make our visits special. Highly recommend!

Born and raised in Orange County—and as a half-Mexican—I know good Mexican food. That said, I was absolutely blown away by the menu at Sylvia’s. The variety alone is impressive, but the execution is what truly sets it apart.
The house salsa arrives warm and fresh from the kitchen, and even the chips are made in-house—details that immediately let you know you’re in for something special. While the entire menu is outstanding, I highly recommend the tamale sampler. It opened my eyes to the diverse regional flavors of Texas and Northern Mexico.
And let’s talk about chili gravy—I literally had no idea what I was missing. It adds incredible depth and flavor to everything it touches. Sylvia fire-roasts her chiles, which enhances the food with a rich, savory taste—bold yet smooth, with none of the runny nose or burning aftermath you sometimes expect.
If you’re ever in the Houston area, this place is an absolute must. ️✨

The food is excellent, the variety of dishes is excellent as well. We did the enchiladas after finding out about this spot on TikTok and it was worth the drive. My wife had the breakfast platter with fajitas and it was delicious as well. Will definitely be going back to try some other dishes I was interested in, service was a bit slow even though they had just opened but it worked out in the end.

Enchiladas and an el jefe margarita, all very good. Service from Theresa was excellent. I like the atmosphere – casual but nice. Similar to many tex-mex restaurants here until you get to the menu where instead of 4-5 enchilada options they have 20. Different versions of tortilla soup, etc. I’m no expert on Mexico but I think you see both tex-mex and more traditional mexican flavors here which is great. Next time I will try the San Miguel enchiladas on Theresa’s recommendation.

Sylvia’s is amazing and the owner is a breath of fresh air. The bar is great and the food is wonderful and like a taste of home. Great margaritas and amazing service- I love the enchiladas poblanas and the beef fajitas is always to die for. I miss their brunch buffet of days past but they still serve a brunch menu weekends.
Their care and attention to detail is clear every time we visit.
