We love Prime 47 Carmel. It is our go to for special occasions. We have consistently had fantastic service, exceptional food, and a great evening! We love the light-up menus. The Baked French Onion soup is some of the best I’ve ever tried. My husband who was raised in FL on fresh seafood thinks their scallops are the best he’s ever had! And he loves the calamari too.

I tried a spinelli cut of steak, at my server’s recommendation. WOW! It was the best steak I’ve ever eaten – it literally melted in my mouth. The flavors were amazing!

Since it was my birthday, they gave me a complimentary chocolate cookie for dessert. This was no ordinary cookie! It is half-baked, served hot with a huge dip of vanilla ice cream, and I have it covered in their caramel sauce. DELICIOUS!

Highly recommend and will continue to go back!

First time visit to Prime 47 to celebrate our anniversary and we were just floored by the service, delicious food and vibrant atmosphere. The vibe was very different but not too formal, and the staff went all out to celebrate our anniversary with a photo frame of our pic, anniversary $25 gift card and a dessert on the house. I tried filet for the first time and I loved the combination with Brussels sprouts. Prime 47 veggie game is exquisite and I am so glad! We definitely will go back to celebrate any occasion.

Though the food here was ok. Steak more medium then medium rare, green beans a little too crunchy, but the chocolate dessert was pretty good. Servers seemed like a robot…just went through his phrases and flow. A little slow but quick to bring back payment.

Oh, I HATE the LED menus. Neat idea but far Too bright and doesn’t fit the intended vibe at all.

This Prime 47 has a different owner than the one in downtown. Yes, I got the gift cards from Costco. Let’s start with the staff. I sat at the bar like I did at the one in downtown. The bartender was a lot more friendlier and was pretty cheerful. It really made a big difference from the experience from the downtown one. I sat at the bar in both places.

I ordered the blackened scallops as starter and the sea bass with green beans and risotto. The scallops were well seasoned and cooked right. The sea bass was delicious and the sauce with really smashed well together. The risotto was accentuated with the wine and cheese, eccellente! The foods came out in good temperature and overall I was well satisfied.

I definitely would drive the extra miles for this Prime 47. I don’t even know why people go to the one in downtown. This is the world we live in.

Last night myself and a friend tried Prime 47. We chose this place because we heard their steaks are really good. My experience was mediocre. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and everyone was very nice. Our waiter took our drink order. We were specific on what we wanted. When the drinks came out, one of the drinks, though very good, was not made how we ordered it. The waiter apologized for putting it in wrong. No problem. We ordered the spicy crab dip for an appetizer. Then we ordered the Salmon and a 14 oz dry aged New York strip for our entrees. We both chose soups as the sides; the loaded baked potato soup and the lobster bisque. Both the appetizer and the soups were absolutely amazing. They brought out bread and butter, which we used to dip in the soups as well as the remainder of our tortilla chips from the crab dip. When the entrées came out, I was a bit surprised at the size of the salmon. I instead of receiving the New York strip as I had ordered was brought a ribeye. I mentioned to the server that I had ordered the New York not the ribeye, but I knew it would take longer for them to make the strip so I agreed to just keep the ribeye. The waiter apologize that he had put in the wrong steak. He agreed to only charge me the price of the New York strip instead of the ribeye if I decided to keep the ribeye. And for the record, I do not like ribeyes because they have a lot of chewy fat on them which I do not like on my steaks. My friend who ordered the salmon immediately frowned his face stating that the salmon was very oily and salty. I took a bite and I would have to agree that it was very oily and very salty. I cut into my steak. It was perfectly cooked as far as medium rare, even though it was the ribeye and not the strip, but it did not have any flavor to it and again not wanting to make a stink. I just shared it with my friend who likes to eat all the fatty chewy parts. And I finished his salmon. When the check came, the waiter did not adjust the amount as he stated when I agreed to just keep the ribeye so he had to go back and adjust the receipt once we got the correct receipt, my friend paid and we left. My friend wanted to mention how oily and salty the salmon was but at this point, we just agree we would not be coming back so it was basically pointless. So our overall experience was mediocre.

Disappointed. Thought the food would be amazing siee to the prices they charge. The ” broccoli soup “did not broccoli in it. Just potatoes and carrots and lacked flavor or seasoning. The water actually tasted a little fishy would have expected it to be filtered for the type of establishment it claims to be. I got the seafood tower it was ok. 3 tiny piece of a crab leg. The lobster Mac and cheese also lacked flavor. I could have made a lot better go $26.00. The customer service was great. I would not return based on this experience. For a$ 200 meal for i expected better food.

Best steak in Indy! This is always where I suggest friends go when visiting if they want excellent food.

Side note, I’ve brought people here from all over the country and very constantly they agree that this is now their favorite steak house!

We had an outstanding experience at Prime 47 Steak House in Carmel, Indiana. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt upscale yet welcoming.

Our waiter, Terry, was exceptional — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely personable. He made thoughtful recommendations and ensured everything was timed perfectly without ever feeling rushed.

The steak was absolutely amazing — cooked to perfection with incredible flavor and tenderness. Easily one of the best steaks we’ve had. Every detail, from presentation to taste, exceeded expectations.

Highly recommend asking for Terry if you visit. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I have a long history with Prime 47 Carmel — our first date was there on December 23rd, we got engaged there a year later, had our wedding dinner there, and have returned every year for our anniversary since. In addition to that tradition, we’ve dined there periodically throughout the year for many years.

This year was the first time we left disappointed. Service was good, but the food was not up to the standard we’ve experienced in the past. My 14oz NY Strip (ordered medium rare) was cooked correctly but very gristly and poorly trimmed — not what I would expect from a Prime steakhouse. The green beans were heavily charred on the outside but essentially raw inside. We were seated upstairs against the back wall, which felt more utilitarian than anniversary-worthy. In prior years, there was always a small personalized anniversary note — a thoughtful touch we’ve saved from previous visits — and it was noticeably absent this time.

After I shared feedback, the manager called, apologized for the seating, and offered a $100 gift card. I appreciated the call. Unfortunately, there was no follow-through and we never heard back. It isn’t about the gift card — it’s about the consistency and attention to detail that once made this place feel special.

We truly want to continue celebrating here. I hope this was simply an off night rather than a sign that standards have changed.
