Felt at home and the food was simply delicious.
A must if you are in the area.
Came for a quiet lunch, but this place has the room and the vibe that it can rock on a busy night!!!
Thank you for making me feel at home.
Had the Plato tipico Salvador #1 – the steak was done to perfection, the pupusa was so good I ordered more to take home. I had not had a “fried elote tamal” before and I was DELICIOUS!! Ordered more of them too! My guest had the enchiladas and they were delicious. The owner gave us samples of his drinks and was very attentive. I will come again that’s for sure!!
Never underestimate the little hole in the wall joints as they can be the best stops on your journey.
Aside from the regular dishes associated with food from Latina countries (tacos, burritos, etc.) El Salvador Restaurant has great seafood.
When I see the piping hot plates and bowels headed to tables of families and groups of people in the Know (aka-Latina People) it is very clear the seafood is a big hit.
I cant stop ordering the Rockfish. The fish is served whole, fried to crispy perfection without sacrificing the tender juicy meat.
The only condiment I use is a little lime juice.
I would also recommend the margarita. The recipe must call for a splash of condensed milk, or coconut milk because there is something different about this common drink that nobody else is doing.
The service is outstanding considering how welcome you are made to feel even with a sizable language gap (Smiles speak volumes).
I am always happy that I came here.
We were greeted and seated promptly by a super-nice and friendly elderly gentleman. Our server delivered us complimentary chips and salsa. I got a mojito and the DW ordered their house sangria. Took a while to get them, but they were on point.
We weren’t super hungry but knew we needed to eat before going to go drink some more. 🙂 We ordered a couple of different tamales (pollo and elote) and a couple pupusas. Everything was delish!
The gentleman that greeted us came back a few times to check on us. He was lovely to talk to. We’ll definitely be back someday to try out the rest of their menu!
