I say I love dim sum but generally afraid to try something new and stick to my usual. Beef rice rolls, pineapple pork buns, egg tarts, mango pomelo sago, and chinese broccoli tip if I go tomorrow, I’ll order these same again my mom tried a few new ones but I stuck to my usual. It’s soooo good though. I want dim sum now.. hmm…

This ginormous typically decorated restaurant specializes in special events in the evenings. We went for a 60-70 person birthday party. We had our own partitioned space. There were several large weddings and other birthday parties going on at the same time. The food was average to bland. We had a set banquet dinner. Portions were generous with so much food to bring home in provided lunchboxes. Nov 2025

My family and I went there this past weekend for an association dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The tables were very cramped and arranged very close to one another. Dinner was to start at 7pm but the food was not brought out until about 8pm. We had to ask the waiters to uncork the wine for us, bring us iced water as well as tea (since they took away the kettle to refill it but never brought it back). They only changed plates once through the entire dinner. Food was not even hot when it came out. The lobster fruit salad that came out at the beginning had tons of fruit and mayonnaise on top. It was garnished with two lobster heads BUT the lobster itself in the dish looked like it came from 1 lobster. The sticky rice with the crab had absolutely NO crab meat in it. Rice was white (colorless) and tasteless. Towards the end, the vegetarian noodles which are typically served at many banquets looked atrocious. You could tell it was all just plated in a rush as noodles are hanging off the edges of the plates. The one waitress had dropped and broke a tea cup at the beginning of service and later dropped an entire noodle dish on the floor. To charge $80 a person, it was definitely NOT worth it.

It is important to know that the entrance is on the top floor of the mall, no entrance from street. Once you get upstairs via 3 flights, you are greeted and quickly wisked away to your table. Service is quick, carts come just as you prepare to sit down. It’s okay to orient yourself before taking on food. Multiple carts circle the dining area and you need to pick wisely before loading up upon seating. As for the dim sum, it’s good. Lots of options such as crystal dumpings but also authentic like chicken feet, tripe, etc. choose wisely because it adds up quickly based on plate size which the servers will stamp on your receipt.

Oh my ! The Siu Mai from this place is so delicious.
I’ve never had one so good.
They are big pieces, full of meat n prawns.
Very tasty.
I also had the pork meat wrapped in beancurd skin in a savoury sauce.
They have so much more dim sums and bao’s.
And selection of meats, char Sui , Roast duck and roasted crispy pork over rice.
The hard part is deciding what to eat.

Dim sum served in a beautiful atmosphere. Servers cruise through the dinning area with carts of awesome food choices. Everything from soup, noodles, buns, meats (including chicken feet), desserts, and more come to your table so you can choose what you want to try. Each table has a rotating tray so the food is moved around easily. The carts made it easier to see the options over looking at a menu to order.

All choices are sample and you can choose as many as you want. The shrimp har gow (dumplings) were especially good. We also got some tripe (which was not my favorite but others said it was very good if you like tripe).

For dessert we got black sesame rolls. The texture is like a fruit roll up but thicker. It is slightly sweet but not overwhelming. These take a long time to prepare and at this restaurant they go quickly. So as soon as you see them on the cart, grab an order for the table.

Everything we had was delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful, not what you would expect in a mall. The service was very good but many servers did not speak English very well so it was difficult to ask questions. They would get a co-worker or manager to help if needed. Luckily we were with people who were very familiar with each selection and chose great options.

I would recommend this restaurant for a fun and authentic Dim Sum experience

Upstairs venue was the best experience of our visit to Flushing and NYC.Fresh hot steaming dishes from Dim Sum carts, abelone a favorite, great service, super fun venue including flowers, chandeliers, adjacent wedding and reception venues, butterfly photo op, karaoke, kitsch, GREAT SERVICE. If you are having trouble ask for help. Prices coded on menu with Chinese characters $5-11, same as any other restaurant in area. A memorable and fun and tasty visit.

Royal Queen in Flushing offers an exceptional dim sum experience that stands out among many we’ve tried. The freshness of the food is remarkable, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors. Navigating the extensive menu is made easy as servers wheel around carts filled with various options, allowing us to simply point and choose. Despite the language barrier, the friendly and attentive staff ensured our dining experience was seamless. We especially appreciated that there was no rush to leave after finishing our meal, allowing us to fully enjoy our time there. Royal Queen has certainly earned a spot on our list of favorite dining spots, and we look forward to returning.
