Food was outstanding! So delicious! We started off with the pomegranate Old Fashioned and Dirty Martini which were amazing! For appetizers we had the fried onions and pimento cheese and both were great. The French onion soup was perfect. Our main dishes were the ribeye with lobster and mashed potatoes and asparagus, the short rib, mushroom pasta and meatloaf. All of them were so good. Can’t recommend Sweet Onion enough.

Absolutely stellar mid-tier restaurant! Food was delicious as were the drinks and all came out in a timely manner despite the restaurant being fully packed with a line out the door. We got the French onion soup (best French onion we have purchased in the states) as well as a garden salad and the chicken parmigiana sandwich w/fries. Sandwich was remarkably good for sounding like a total gimmick and the salad was fresh with plenty of flavor. Will be coming many times in the future!

Really good restaurant find in the town of Waynesville. I had the ceasar salad with grilled chicken and my wife had a chicken salad. I started with the soup of the day, a tomato bisque that was incredible. Next up creamed corn with jalapeño and melted cheese. Finally the salads were fresh and the chicken excellent. Will visit again.

Read the reviews and was A little apprehensive so we decided it would be the last place we ate before heading back home from our vacation…. And so the story begins. Everything was fantastic. The managers in a busy time got us to a table pretty quick. It was at the bar but you know we wanted it it so we sat down. Our waitress is the bartender of course and let me tell you Saige was our waitress and she was awesome. Kept my drinks full. Checked up on us periodically. We didn’t have to wait on her for anything. She did a fantastic job.. the brussel sprouts were yummy the bread the butter perfect.. she ordered the shrimp Florentine and I ordered the trout fillet crusted… So let me tell you I could eat that everyday. It was fantastic, delicious beyond words but stuffed as I was. She made us eat the chocolate cake with ice cream. Yep it was fantastic. I recommend this place. It was delicious.

We (party of 2) ate here for lunch (12:30 pm) on a Tuesday. We were sat at a table with menus as soon as we walked in the restaurant. Our server took our drink orders & brought us our drinks with biscuits & butter. Waitress took our order of Brasstown beef meatloaf & garlic mashed potatoes with crispy onions on top & the fried fresh mozzarella with smoked tomato chutney. Our meal was out within 10 minutes. It was delicious! I can’t wait to go back & try other items.

We had a rather large group of 10 individuals dining on 2/28/26. Despite our cumbersome and boisterous group, the service was impeccable. The ahi tuna starter exceeded expectations, and the perfectly cooked 12 oz ribeye was absolutely up to my standards for a medium-rare cook. The cocktail/liquor menu also provided a great compliment to their dinner menu, at an exceptionally resonable price. Overall experience was phenomenal, could not recommend this restaurant enough.

The food here is phenomenal. Truly really exceptional. Everyone in our party had fantastic meals. The French onion soup was outstanding. It’s clear that all the ingredients used are fresh.
However the service was challenging. We had called to make a reservation for our party of 8 a few weeks before. When we got there, the host told us that people were still dining at our table so we were waiting for them to leave. But girl they were CAMPED. like those people were not moving anywhere quickly. We did eventually get seated right around our reservation time.
Service after that point was slow. We were there for over an hour and a half. And in the scheme of things, a group of 8 isn’t that insane. It was agonizing how slow service was. It seems like this place really struggles with anything over four people or so in a party. If you’re coming with a group, I’d advise to avoid, even if the food is fantastic. There are just better places that can accommodate you.
However, I’ll definitely be back. Just with less people. The catfish was some of the best I’ve ever had.

Went on a Tuesday night. Olivia was the best server – very knowledgeable and accommodating.
We had the petite filet with blue crab meat and mixed veggies, crab cake, a shrimp pasta special with sundried tomatoes, artichokes, and a pecan pesto, the shrimp and grits, and somehow had room for creme brulee with blackberry compote! The atmosphere is polished casual and the place was very clean. The timing of our food was perfect. The staff was all very kind and friendly.

Everything about this restaurant was very good. The food was great. My only issue was the portion sizes. It was an extreme amount of food in every course. Cut portion sizes in half and this would have gotten 5 stars. Service was great and the atmosphere was very inviting. This was a little on the speedy side but it was worth it. I highly recommend if you are staying in Waynesville or the surrounding area.
