Our group of 4 could not have been more delighted with the dinner or evening @Belga Cafe. The chef was helping people navigate over the ice when we arrived, the manager welcomed us at the door and offered options for seating and our waitress was simply wonderful!!! We enjoyed mussels and a baguette as an appetizer- mussels come with Belgian fries – which were delicious – but the bread dipped in the sauce was a perfect addition. Highly recommend Belgian mussels, Salmon, Beef stew and Steak Tartar. Fabulous service, food and wine made the evening so special!!!

Went here for brunch with a few friends on their recommendation and it was very delicious. It is a true Belgian cafe with a full waffle menu!

I got the Fresh and Simple waffle which was LOADED with fruit and absolutely delicious. I got a side of eggs as well. My friends got interesting items, including the baguette which came with some wonderful butters.

If you are in Eastern Market, stop in for breakfast foods! You will not be disappointed.

Had a light brunch? We both only ordered one dish. And the total came out to be $50 quite high, but understandable for area.

The skillet I ordered was quite nice, with the meat, sauce, eggs and potatoes meshing quite well. However, the fruit waffle was not only quite small, but it felt a bit insulting for the price. I understand the fruits may be somewhat exotic for the US consumer? But I would hardly think that figs, mango and melons would justify $20 for a single waffle.

Bit dissatisfied, but we also didn’t try much of the menu. 6/10

Menu calls the steak tartare the best in DC, and I don’t disagree. Great menu variety for food and drinks. Fun seat at the bar, will be back.

Hands down the best Belgian restaurant in DC. Have been going for 15 years and still come whenever we’re able. Go to the wine/dinner events for unique experiences and food/drinks.

During a European trip a few years ago, my wife and I visited Belgium. Although our stay was brief, we made it a point to indulge in Belgian waffles for breakfast.

The waffles we encountered in Belgium were exceptional.

Belga Cafe successfully evoked the memory of our experience, and I must say that the waffles here were equally impressive, if not superior.

If you are in the Washington, D.C. area, I highly recommend visiting Belga Cafe to satisfy your craving for authentic Belgian waffles. You will not be disappointed.

Great service, very friendly staff. Knew nothing about Belgium cuisine so I kept it safe by just getting mussels, which were delicious. Friend got salmon which she loved. Will be back to try other dishes

Belga Café brings the best of Brussels to Capitol Hill ✨. Cozy and stylish, it’s known for hearty Belgian classics — from moules frites and croquettes to rich stews and decadent waffles. Pair it with one of their many Belgian beers, and you’ve got comfort and elegance in every bite .

I used to live on C Street, Capitol Hill, for a while, and this spot was so convenient for a casual dinner night . The vibe is warm and lively, service is friendly, and it always felt like a little European escape right in DC. A true neighborhood gem with Belgian soul.

Yum! The chocolate mousse was amazing. The other food was great too. The cod was cooked perfect and the sauces were much better than I thought they would be.
