Went today while we are New Mexico and the lady bartender was very rude! My boyfriend and I are early 20s, the vibe was definitely older than that, but we sat down to eat and get a cocktail. The lady came over and we had our Oklahoma IDs out. My boyfriend still has the vertical one, but is of age to drink. She said we don’t accept that. When asked why because we didn’t understand she said, “we just don’t.” My boyfriend asked if it was still a valid ID and she said yes but she wouldn’t accept it. He also has a CAC, but she did not say we could use that instead. We still said we’d eat and I asked if I could have a drink menu. She said there is no drink menu. She left us after that over 15 minutes without getting an appetizer or drink when we wanted both. Finally got up and left after the other lady and the bartender wouldn’t come back to the table just stood and stared at us. This wasn’t at a busy time, and I am a server as well. I was very upset by the rude attitude and lack of care. Won’t go back for sure and if you’re from out of town be aware of the ID situation!!
Unprofessional response when I’ve seen the same thing listed in my review in others. Like the bad attitude and rude bartender. How are you going to tell me we refused service when we sat and waited on you for a very long time and even as we were leaving you didn’t ask if we wanted anything just oh you’re leaving? It’s my first review because I’ve never had this bad of service. Dive bars still have good vibes and actually thrive on it, but okay! As well, a CAC is a government issued ID. A very legal form of identification and as a server you should know what it looks like and where the date is.

This place has a pretty vast selection of beers and liquors without being overwhelming. You want a good beer they probably got it, want a local beer they ho some good ones of those too. Liquor selection is pretty expansive for some little neighborhood bar and the food is good too. Personally I’d suggest the taco burger as that’s the only thing I tend to order there but that’s for a reason.

, OWNER’S EXCUSES ARE WORSE THAN FLUFFY’S DJING ‘Can’t control the music’?! Hires him for YEARS, despite customers fleeing and reviews piling up.
ASK ALL YOUR WAITRESSES AND SECURITY HOW PEOPLE FEEL ABOUT DJ FLUFFY AND HOW MANY PEOPLE FLEE WHEN HE DJs AND THEN MAYBE YOU’LL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE YOU SURE AIN’T LISTENING TO THE REVIEWS ‼️
Last Friday it was another torturous night with DJ fluffy
Fire Fluffy, save the bar because it’s only gonna go down from here.
Us regular customers are fed up with him and were gonna band together and spend our money at a new location!
There are 2 really good DJs there named DJ diamond and DJ Pete why not have them there more? They cater to what the crowd likes (old/new school rap and r&b) unlike fluffy who plays what he likes which is a bunch of Mexican and country music and some weird rap

best green chile cheeseburger!!! i’ve had many in my life and this one is hands down the best. i love that the bar is locally owned, they actually care and are super involved. i’ve seen the staff work their asses off and the GM wears all the hats helping. love this bar!!!

DJ Fluffy was a no-show for the dance crowd once again! Instead of working the room, he stuck to his bizarre playlist, playing what sounded like his personal mixtape. His selection of music didn’t match the vibe, and people started leaving.
Instead of his music bringing people to the dance floor he clears it and the bar suffers because of it.
People stop buying drinks because they are on their phones and texting their friends trying to find another place to go with a better DJ.
There are 2 other DJs that play good music and cater to the crowd so why not have them there more???

DJ Fluffy threw a wrench in the works with a playlist that was way off base for a rap and hip-hop crowd. The abundance of Mexican music had patrons heading for the exits, and the dance floor became a ghost town. It seemed like he was playing to a different crowd entirely. Until he stops playing music the majority doesn’t like, let’s hope the next DJ is a better fit. There are actually 2 good DJs there, DJ diamond and DJ Pete.

Ate the Enchaladas they were better than any other New Mexico restaurant in town. Atmosphere is great, like a big family here. Large assortment of drinks, great staff, and great management. Will be returning for this home town environment.

Personally I’m a fan of dives and real old school bars like this. There’s not many around anymore. I’m also more of an earlier drinker and won’t be there of a late night or weekend. Food and drinks are great and the staff is great too. You know there’s a reason why most of the servers and bartenders have been there for years. (I think some people tend to forget that based on current reviews)

The Effingbar is pretty cool spot most the staff are cool and pretty friendly. The atmosphere is pretty good except for when they have Dj fluffy playing music. No one can clear the dance floor like he does, his music selection is all over the place and he can kill the mood in the bar in a heartbeat.
