Stopped by Doña Maria Mexican Restaurant and ordered the tacos — and they absolutely delivered. The tortillas were fresh, the meat was seasoned perfectly, and everything tasted authentic and homemade. You can tell they care about the quality and flavor.

The portions were generous without being overdone, and the toppings were fresh and balanced. The salsa had a great kick without overpowering the food. Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable.

If you’re looking for real-deal tacos that hit the spot, this place is worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more off the menu.

The food is soooo good I highly the recommend mole guiso plate with rice and corn tortillas. The mole is delicious sweet and spicy just the way I like it and the portions are great! Clean restaurant and the service is perfect, friendly, professional and prompt. The only thing was the fountain drinks, the Pepsi and Dr Pepper we ordered were flat, but other than that everything else was GREAT! Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu. My husband had the bistec con papas en salsa verde and he really liked it, said it was spicy and the portion was plentiful.

We came here for the menudo, it had good flavor and the tortillas that came with it were delicious. However, it would’ve been perfect if they put more meat than hominy. I think my plate just had a few little pieces of meat, which was very disappointing.

It’s such a shame, the food was really great. However, the customer service was TERRIBLE and it is so chaotic. Came in on a Sunday. When we walked in there wasn’t a lot of people waiting. I was told it’d be about a 10-15 minute wait and we were given a pager. A flood of people came in after and about half of them were given pagers while the other half were asked for phone numbers. After 30 minutes someone finally came and asked how long we’ve been waiting for a table. After telling him it had been 30 minutes and we were told 10-15 he checked then told us that the person who checked us in didnt actually write us down which is why we were still waiting. He then offered to take our order and we were finally able to sit. When the food was brought out we got the menudo and the plate we ordered, however, the chips and salsa/queso dip didnt come. We then asked the girl who brought our food and she checked the receipt, just to find out that our request for the chips and dip weren’t actually ordered. She asked if we wanted to re order it and we said no but that we’d like to speak with a manager. She leaves and after a few minutes she comes and tells us that the manager is too busy and not going to come speak with us. When we mentioned leaving a review she then offers to bring us the chips and dip again. At that point we decided to go ahead and take the chips not thinking we’d be able to speak with anyone. Well after we were already almost finished eating someone came to speak with us saying he was the owner and asked what was wrong. As soon as we started speaking he interrupted and became very dismissive. All we were trying to do is explain what was going on. When we spoke we kept making sure he knew that we loved the food and that we were just making him aware of the service that we were being provided. He then interrupted and started trying to explain that he had been in the business for 7 years and that he he runs things has been working. We tried explaining we weren’t trying to offend him or tell him the way he did things was wrong but that staff was handling things wasn’t working. He was very rude and when he spoke he spoke down to us like we didnt know what we were talking. He then proceeds to keep telling us that he stopped helping in the kitchen just to speak with us and kept asking what we wanted him to do. Then he asks about 3 times if we just wanted a refund. We kept saying that we didn’t want free food that we just felt like he needed to know that us a lot of other people in line all had the same complaints. He kept acting like we were trying to attack his business personally. We were thinking of giving the place another try possibly even if it qas just for to go orders because we did love the food, but after this we won’t be ordering or visiting this place again.

Chihuahuan style Mexican food, basically what you can get in Juarez / El Paso.

The food is delicious. We go for the gorditas and burritos, but everything is great.

The new location is amazing, spacious and well-decorated. Very clean, with excellent service.

Authentic, Delicious, and Full of Heart!
The only thing I don’t like is they take so long to order and bring the food but the food is good
Doña Maria Mexican Restaurant is a true hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The food is absolutely amazing fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. I tried the enchiladas and carne asada, and both were perfect. The tortillas tasted homemade, and the salsas had just the right kick. Service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you’re looking for real Mexican food that hits the spot every time, this is the place. Highly recommended

The food presentation was good however the taste was very bad. The barbacoa tacos were not good they were bland no flavor which makes it very gamey taste also very oily. The Barbacoa texture looked like it was blended more like processed food out of a can. The gorditas were big made of flour, I was expecting corn masa the ratio of the stuffing was way off they filled 1/3 of the Gordita not even half. Not authentic Mexican food. I don’t recommend this place at all! Save your money, I would rather go to a fast food restaurant.

This restaurant has been on my wish list for a long time, but because it’s tucked away in Richardson ( I live in Mansfield ) I had to find the time to make the drive . I have to report that it was well worth the wait !

The food is outstanding , specially the gorditas. You don’t find flour gorditas very often here in the DFW . The guiso de Winnie is delicious & but tilt reminds me of Juarez . I enjoyed the colita de Pavo , and their mole !
The chilaquiles were good , but would have been better with meat added on. Horchata was good as well . I would definitely comeback !

Man what a gem. I would say, if you’re a fan of Nuevo León you’ll like this option too. What struck me was that the clientele is 90% Hispanic. The staff and numerous customers were obviously familiar with each other. The lovely ladies making each order fresh. Lastly, some good tasting food. I tried the chile relleno burrito and was not disappointed. Paired with an Asodo Gordita. Good salsas to compliment the meal.

AND menudo bowls were streaming out from the kitchen. My next try.

Food was fresh and tasty! Most people seemed to be there for the menudo. We arrived in time before the line was out the door. Hubs had breakfast tortas. I had the chilalaques. I actually ordered Verde but I think I received roja? Spicy and tasty, however.
