I’ve been comparing BBQ around Detroit Metro area and I must admit I had high expectations for Slows to go. I had a couple friends stop by and we ordered in and had it delivered. Total bill just under $100.00.
I rated the food on a scale from 1 thru 10 … 10 being the best, 1 the worst.

Online ordering was pretty simple and straight forward. The order was delivered on time , hot and correct contents. Portions size was okay.
*Rib slab was mostly a huge amount of fatty grissle and was VERY DRY AND TOUGH … Didn’t get eaten.
Out of a possible 70pts for food …. 39pts
I’ve dined at their other location and had a really great experience. But the to go location definitely left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth .

I have had the original Slows restaurant, It was pretty good, but Slows to go was horrible, my ribs were dry and tough, I thought I would get the pinwheel for chicken, not pulled breast meat. It was also dry, the Cole slaw had more onions than cabbage and it was just overall disappointing… I don’t think I would even go back to the original restaurant.

I flew in from California this week wanted some good eats seen this spot decided to drop by . The lady behind the counter was fairly rude as I didn’t see the order your self station . The food was ok kind of dry with no taste or rub or such but I moved onto the Mac & cheese but it was ok taste as if it was under the warming lamp . I wish for a better experience if I come back down this way . Overall a 5/10

Made a reservation and came with a group before a show at the Fox theatre. It was busy which was why we made the reservation. Our reservation was at 5:30 but we didn’t get seated until 5:58pm which put us in a rush. Our server was obviously busy so ordering, getting refills, getting the check etc.. was slow. We all ordered different combos and one person got the pulled pork sandwich. All the food was good. Very good in fact. The only thing that was a disappointment was the cornbread. It was gummy and sweet and being from Georgia that just won’t do. Also a BBQ place without sweet tea feels like a mistake as well. I do admit I may have some bias there. Sides were good especially the Mac and cheese and beans. We were a few minutes late to the show so I now know to leave a lot more time.

Slow’s has the best catering – I really appreciate all the hard work and effort that goes into their dishes and their smoked meats. My absolute favorites are the brisket and the mac and cheese, but everything is very tasty and the sauces are delicious. The mac and cheese is smothered in melty cheese with crispy edges – just like Grandma wishes she could make. They use shell pasta and a thick roux-based cheese sauce. The food is always hot, fresh and on time with delivery and everyone is always so happy with them. I highly recommend.

This was my first time visiting Slows to go and the customer service was the BEST! There was a very tall thin guy (I didn’t get his name) that took my order today (10-22-2025 @ 1:30pm) and he was super helpful! The lady with the orange color pig tail braids was super friendly and kept calling me baby, which MADE MY DAY!! BEST STAFF EVER!!!

Slow’s did and excellent job as the caterer of our garden party! The communication with the catering manager was easy and Andrea helped me think through how much food we needed for our party size and the menu selections. Not only was the food amazing, the server brought it to our home on time, set it all up, and explained everything.

Tried to call to change order. Got put on hold for 10 minutes before hanging up. Unprofessional. Would give a zero for service if I could. Wasted 20 minutes of my time trying to call and getting put on hold. Telephone system rerouted to another store or went to voice mail after being on hold. Staff denied I had been on hold of tried to call. Refund pending from doordash. Garbage service.
