We’ve been loyal customers of Johnny’s Pizza for a while now. In the past, we always enjoyed the food, the service, and the friendly waitstaff. That’s why this visit was so disappointing.
We called ahead for a to-go order and were told the pizza would take about 20 minutes. We arrived within 30 minutes and decided to eat in, added drinks, and ordered a full-size pizza with breadsticks. Unfortunately, both the pizza and the breadsticks came out noticeably overcooked. Johnny’s usually has that classic New York-style soft, foldable dough, but this time the pizza was stiff, dry, and burnt on the bottom.
Our waitress was kind and professional. She actually tried to help when we showed her how rigid the slice was. Even the cashier asked if we had requested the pizza “extra toasted,”…which says a lot about how overdone it was.
The experience took a turn when the shift lead/manager on duty (Tampa) came to the table. She took several minutes to approach us, and when she finally did, her attitude was dismissive from the start. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, her first reaction was, “What’s wrong with the pizza?” in a rude tone. When we explained politely and showed the slice, she offered only “a couple of replacement slices” instead of remaking the pizza we had already paid for. There was no apology, no effort to fix the situation, and no sense of customer care.
Needless to say, we weren’t able to eat the pizza in the condition it was served.
Just to be clear, it’s not like the pizza was completely untouched. we have a 3yo who was hungry, so he ate some, and we tried to eat it too even though it was clearly overcooked and stiff. However, the vast majority of the pizza and cheese bread sticks remained uneaten because the food quality was simply not what Johnny’s usually serves. Even though the original order was placed to-go and the box was already there, we still left almost everything behind at the table instead of taking it with us.
We’ve always enjoyed this place, but consistency matters and so does customer service. Unfortunately, this visit felt like the complete opposite of what Johnny’s Pizza has made us expect. I hope this was just an off day, but the attitude and lack of willingness to resolve the issue from the lead on duty made the whole experience really disappointing.

I had Johnny’s New York Style Pizza here in Columbus, GA, and their calzone was absolutely amazing! Perfectly baked, full of flavor, and loaded with just the right amount of cheese and toppings. You can taste the freshness in every bite. The service was friendly, and everything came out hot and fast. Definitely my new go-to spot when I’m craving a great calzone. Highly recommend!

I mean it Johnny’s Pizza need I say more. Everything was great. Crust not too thick or thin. Service was prompt, fresh ingredients, and professional staff. I ledt my server know I was in a rush for an appointment and she promptly brought out a to go box and the check at the start of our meal. I can’t wait to return when I have more time to sit and enjoy the menu.
Update: I’ve returned twice since my last post two months ago. Let me tell you the service (shout out to Natalie) always great. This time I had the lasagna and it was amazing. Keep up the good work at Johnny’s Pizza.

We’ve been going to Johnnys about once a month for the past 3 months. The pizza is usually very good and the staff has always been friendly. I think the pizza we had on our last visit (about one week ago) was the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The curst was perfectly done. Thin, but with air pockets inside. crisp on the bottom but not burnt. Our waitress, Crystal, did a great job. She got us everything we needed and was really helpful in getting things sorted out for our two kids who are 3 and 5 years old.

I was handed raw pepperoni when we realized the pizza wasn’t what I ordered…BLOWN AWAY! Why not correct my order and I leave a happy returning customer not one who will most likely never patron there again. Great food but mediocre at best customer service.

Not a place id come back. Drinks were messed up after we had been forgotten about. Being charged $2 for a 2 yr old to have a drink was bizarre. Had i known the kids menu didn’t come with a drink, i wouldn’t have got her one. They could have at least mentioned it. The food was ok. You can for sure tell how different we were treated compared to the non colored people. People left and were acknowledged as they left but when we left no one said anything but it’s expected since others around us had more interaction with their server than we did. $40 not worth spent that i wish I could have back

New York style pizza it certainly is. The crust 10/10, cheese 8.5/10, sauce 7/10.
Overall 8.5/10. On the scale of that one guy who i dont want to get sued by, and actually only taking one….taste… he may rate this Pizza 7.4 which is huge by his standard, but who knows, someone call him.
For comparison, Domino’s 2/10 Pizza hut 4/10, Papa John’s 5/10.

Very disappointed. Came in to dine in with my family after my sister’s army graduation and the host and waitresses were very unprofessional and had a terrible attitude. Felt a little discriminated. It felt like they were bothered that we would consider eating inside. No one wanted to take our order. Everyone of them was asked to take our take out order and they all responded with no while we’re were standing there. Savannah had no choice but to make us wait. Unfortunately everyone felt uncomfortable afterwards. I decided to come here because I’m not from the area and I saw the reviews were great. I even called ahead before arriving. Please consider spending your money elsewhere to avoid an unpleasant experience.
