This was my second time visiting Char-Grill, and it was just as good as I remembered! The cashier was super nice and friendly. I even asked for his name twice because I kept forgetting, but he didn’t mind at all and stayed very kind. The food was delicious, fresh, and exactly what I was craving. The prices were also great for the quality you get. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

This place was a complete ripoff.. fake pink hot dog meat and my burger didn’t even have any lettuce on it even though I checked the box, others got lettuce on their burgers. Takes forever too.

Ate at the char-grill on Hillsborough Street for the first time on my way back home from Wilmington. This was the first time I had ever filled my my own order slip and then stood there watching my order being cooked in front of me while I waited. When cooked they called my name to come to the pickup window. I paid for my hotdog with chili and slaw and a char burger with chili and slaw and walked over and sat down at one the picnic tables to enjoy my lunch. Good food and unique dining experience, I will be stopping here to eat again when I am passing by Raleigh.

I rarely eat fast food, but I happened to be in Raleigh and decided to stop by. I placed my order and got my food in about 8 minutes. I took my food home, which is in Holly Springs. My burger was still hot, I did heat up the fries, but that was expected. The food was delicious as always. I used to frequent this location when I was younger, in fact a friend of mine worked there. I have been a customer of Char Grill for well over 30 years and the service, staff and food is always great. In my experiences at Char Grill, they’ve messed up my order once. I’ve never had an employee that was rude, ever. Again, I don’t eat fast food very often and unfortunately this location is about 45 minutes from my home, but even if I hadn’t been in Raleigh that day, it’s worth the long drive to eat there. Char Grills food and service rivals that of Chick Fil-A. In my opinion, Char Grill has better much better food. Top notch place and the best burgers around. Only negative comment would be, there is no Char Grill in Holly Springs. Great food, great employees and overall, a great restaurant.

I often pick up lunch here for my husband & me — he loves their steakburgers and I love their garden salad w/chicken; we both love their apple pies! The orders are always prepared perfectly and right & the staff is always the nicest! My only complaint (ha!)? That I’m unable to leave a tip when I use my card to pay, ha! (I do try to remember to bring cash when I’m able!) Highly recommend!

This is still the best burger in the USA. I’ve been going here for 40 years and it just never fails to be the very best steak hamburger available anywhere. Everything is just perfect the burger, the fries the chocolate shake. This restaurant gets my highest score 5/5.

They are good people and it is a good restaurant. I always like to come here for a quick delicious lunch. The fries are always extra crunchy and the burgers are delicious.
The food could be ordered online or in person and always comes out quick. The portions are generous.
The staff are also really friendly and nice. This is a Raleigh classic and I highly recommend it to both visitors and locals alike.

I wish I would’ve gotten a burger. If you’re at a place known for burgers, go with the burger. I got a hot dog(not a fan). Not much flavor and bread was soggy from the slaw. Now, the burgers that my family ordered were AMAZING!! Such good flavor, fresh and hot! The spot is a little sketch so I would definitely bring a friend esp at night.

I hadn’t been to Char-Grill in over a decade, but stopped by while I was in town for work. I was so impressed with the staff… especially the cashier. He was patient and polite, even with people constantly changing their orders (it was stressing me out just watching). He stayed calm, helpful, and kind. And the burgers were just as good as I rem!
