Let me start off this review by saying my family and I have been Dining in at Da Wabbit for over 15 years. The food & service are always phenomenal. Except for this past Friday, February 13th at 12:30 when I placed a Togo order. I asked to please have my gravy on the side and no mayo on my coworkers poboy . The bartender whom was the worker taking my order continued to rush me off the phone without letting me finish ordering. She continued to huff and puff on the phone asking “is that it?” with a tone as if I was unbearable to her. I asked to please make sure my poboy had no mayo and gravy was on the side. She said I’m sorry I have sent the ticket already and cannot make changes. I have not had this problem before where a simple fix can honestly be made by having it reciprocated back to kitchen staff. I am also in the food industry. I get that lunchtime is a very busy time and you have other things to tend to.
Upon arrival I inspected my ordered food and let bartender know my order was wrong.
I felt extremely uncomfortable even asking to have it made the correct way due to her aggressive attitude. I highly recommend having someone else on the phone speaking to customers or better phone training.
I’m giving this review 5 stars on behalf of my love for the staff at Da Wabbit and the food always being exceptional. I don’t believe the star should be taken away due to the negligence of the one bartender ruining my experience. I will continue to dine in, but this will be my last time ordering Togo.

Went for an event, food was good as always, server was over the top good. Young lady had nearly 30 people at the event and handled it like a champ. She deserves more recognition than I can give on here. Downside is the place is always crowded, and the event space is cramped.

2nd time here. We came back for the fried chicken and it was just as juicy and delicious as our first time! Boyfriend raved about the potato salad both times too. Huge portion of chicken for a great price. Will be back!

Great locals place that always delivers exceptional food with great service. Plenty of parking and in a safe area you don’t have to worry about your car getting broken into. If you’re on the Westbank, I would definitely recommend making this one of your stops.

Excellent food. Great prices. Great service. A hidden gem. Lots of different menu items. Eggplant appetizer was amazing. Fried pork chops were amazing. Smoked chicken was amazing. Update- added $1 to their tip. I hate when places do that. Could have been an accident but I doubt it. Too bad. Would have come here every other month or so.

This place in Gretna,La has been here 75 years. Its Iconic! My Wife and I used to go here on dates in 2020 and 2021. Nearly everything here is on point. We usually get the 3 pc catfish plate $13. And we usually change the potato salad for sweet potato fries. $2 extra. They are good. This time I tried the ” shrimp stew” with 2 pcs of fish. You can skip that. The shrimp were ok but most likely frozen. Didn’t have that fresh gulf taste. The ” stew” was just a rue poorly done. They over cooked it a bit giving it a little acrid taste. And its a dollar more. There was nothing else detectable ro warrant calling it a stew. But don’t let this stop you from going. Just opt out of that dish. I’m sure they would have exchanged. It had I asked I didn’t. The catfish were reasonably sized fillets and breaded and cooked to perfection, as always. The service was bordering on excellent missing only because there was no spoon served with the stew. The atmosphere was great although a little dated. But fine for a 75 year icon. We don’t go often anymore we live 60 miles away. But we visit whenever we get a chance. Never been disappointed. Make sure you give it a try. Wabbit, if you read this take that “stew” off the menu. Or step up your game on this one. Employ some classic techniques lik caramelizing some onion and adding the trinity. Perhaps a little sweet corn for a little extra flavor and a hint of sweetness?

I heard the burgers were great here. Came for lunch, pretty full dining area. Sat in the bar area at a table.
Ordered a burger, fries well done, and a side salad. Soon, the salad came… I asked the server to make sure the fries were well done, she said she told the kitchen.
The burger and fries came (a different server), of course the fries, white and cold. I asked her to take them and please get well done fries. Very polite, no problem. Got me a second plate to put the burger on. I picked up the burger, and between the meat juices and lot o mayo… the bottom bun had disintegrated. Ended up using a knife and fork for the burger. The fries came back perfect. I experience sending fries back 80% of the time. Don’t know why restaurants can’t do it right the first time.
Anyway, nice place, servers are friendly and polite. Food is OK.

Stacy was the best waitress and server, she was pleasant and provided great hospitality. Now the food was GREAT, my father tended bar when he was young and it was a small bar with po boy sandwiches served. They’re under new management after Katrina, but still serve wonderful food.

13SEPT22 ~ My wife & I had an excellent dinner & time with friends. Our server, Missy, was great. She was genuinely friendly, engaging, helpful, and quick on the uptake & deed. She always seemed to know when to come by our table, not too often, & not to little. The food was excellent. We all had different items & all enjoyed our respective meals. My wife had the Tuesday special, lima beans & catfish which she strongly recommends. I had the seafood platter, which I recommend. Our prices were very reasonable. The lively atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening dinner. Thank-you Da Wabbit!
