I absolutely love their fish burger. The deep-fried, battered fish is perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside. It’s topped with a rich onion tartar sauce, fresh coleslaw, and served on soft, fluffy buns that bring everything together beautifully. The flavors are outstanding and honestly hard to describe—you really have to try it to believe how good it is. On top of that, this place is also well known for its BBQ, which is just as impressive. If you enjoy great comfort food done right, this spot is a must-try.

My favourite place ever. An immediate 5 stars from the first bite. The place itself looks slightly rough but don’t let it get to you. The BBQ mixed ribs are SO GOOD and SO VALUE for money. The beef ribs are big and nicely charcoaled, giving it that savory soft and tender bite. The short ribs were also very well done with the meat itself being so soft and easy to eat. Overall, amazing food at good prices. Very happy.

It’s seems this place has been at this location for a long time. More for take out. The mixed plate was great. It had a lot of meat , two scoops of rice and delicious macaroni salad. The seafood plate had a lot of fish, shrimp and scallops fried perfectly. We had a great local experience.

If you suffer fron diabetes or sugar i would suggest the ” Hibachi Chicken with no sauce and all toss salad”! Best barbecue on the island! My wife favorite is the Ribs!!

We live in Pearl City and I decided to go to Bob’s Barbecue in Kalihi because they serve what seems like true Barbecue chicken like its made on a hibachi. The 2 other places where I get barbecue chicken you can easily tell that the chicken is made on a flat gas grill. And Bob’s in Kalihi packs the salad separate from the hot food. My wife especially likes that.
We hadn’t been here in a while so I was really looking forward to the chicken. But I ended up being very disappointed. The chicken was dry, tough, and the flavor was flat, missing. Didn’t taste at all like what I expected. They do give a generous portion though I think it’s less than what they gave before. It seems that almost all the restaurants are serving less, while charging the same price or even more.
Back to Bob’s. I’m a small eater so I had left overs, but the 2nd night, I literally had to force myself to eat more of the chicken. I ate some and then told myself I’m done. My mother also didn’t enjoy the chicken. My plan was to finish hers, but of course that plan went out the window. I couldn’t even finish all of mine.
For what its worth, Bob’s is not the only restaurant where the quality seems to have gone down.
I don’t know if we’ll be going back to Bob’s in Kalihi in the near future. We’ll try the closer restaurants first.

The food is good, but I think the best part of Bob’s is the menu. They had a wide variety of foods for a reasonable price. The food was made fresh and didn’t take too long. I gave the atmosphere 1 star b/c it’s not much to it. I feel as if it’s more of a grab and go type of place.

It’s rare to find a place where the entire family leaves full and happy without breaking the bank. Bob’s BBQ offers fantastic value and is quickly becoming our go-to family tradition. Highly recommend it for a budget-friendly, tasty meal! The beef rib is our favorite!

The State is tearing up the intersection which Bob’s is directly a corner of and they clean but you might get the same cleanliness you find at a city & county park picnic table with the greenery and local view. It’s my only downer on my 1st visit. The staff were kind and smiling and the food was done well. I had the New York steak combo with scallops.
My steak was perfectly mid rareand the deep fried scallops could’ve use a squeeze of lemon. What I learned while waiting is the beef ribs and pork ribs are supposedly their big deal and the hibachi chicken a winner. So next time I come I’ll plan to try those.

Was craving short ribs and a friend suggested Bob’s, which looks like a ramshackle joint right off the road but don’t be put off by appearances – they serve legit local grindz in the form of classic lunch plates. I was happy to see they offer mini plates, which was just the right size for lunch for me. Parking is a little difficult to maneuver because of the road construction but there are ample parking spaces.
