At our Mableton, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This is the nastiest restaurant I have ever set foot in. I would have normally just gone through the drive through, but I had to use the restroom. I’m glad I got to see the inside because I will never be back.
I went around 1pm on Saturday. The restaurant smelt like vomit as soon as I walked in. The countertop was greasy. I was the only customer inside, the floor was dirty and greasy. But there was no food traffic, so the floor has probably been dirty for several days. Boxes that condiments were in look like they had something spilled on them, but they were still using the boxes.
There was a ladder and the dirty broom just sitting out in the dining room.
They filled in the gaps between the floor and door jams with steel wool pads.
Several ceiling tiles were discolored, swollen and stained. I don’t know how they passed a health inspection.
Most of the seating I had ripped or stained a leather.
At some point, they attempted to paint the wall in the women’s bathroom. The paint is splattered all over the floor.
I noticed everything but the smell before I ordered my food.
I should have canceled my ordered.
As far as the food goes, the fish and okra looked ok. Hash puppies looked and felt like they had been recooked. Ended up throwing everything away, because I was so grossed out.

Keen to drive-through to order two deluxe seafood platters got around to the corner paid for the food. She asked us to pull aside so we did. I decided to go in and order a cake purchased a cake. She gave me the cake waited 35 minutes on two deluxe seafood platters only three employees in there the auto part of the restaurant looked at a mess in the front where the cashier is customer service and hospitality values by asking to offer anything free for that weight they stated no that’s not customer service . They need help and if you wait that long, you should be able to offer the customer a drink or something and apologize.

I wasn’t inclined to do this review but after I got a notification from google maps I figured it was a sign that I should.
I have been a life long lover of Captain D’s. They are one of few fast food chains where I’m willing to eat in these times. The portions are perfect, crispy, and hot. I’ve rarely had a complaint.
But I stopped at this location and ate inside several days ago. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service.
I noticed a leak coming from the ceiling near the cash registers. When I got my food, the fries were cold. Not warm like they had been under a warmer. They were actually cold. Another customer came in after me and they ended up with cold fries as well.
The cashier did briefly address it and we all ended up with hot fries within a few minutes, no issues. I appreciated how they handled that because I’ve been given the death stare at other places for well, expecting hot food.
I did end up sick that evening after eating at this location. Nausea/upset stomach type of sick. I was fine the following day.
Anyway, overall, it was a good experience. Nothing that would stop me from going for a quick bite. I probably just wouldn’t stop at that particular location.

Food was hot and fresh. My Mac n cheese though was very runny. Fish was delicious though. Haven’t been to a Captain D’s in over 20 years and this didn’t disappoint

Was very disappointed in the quality of my fish. It didn’t appear to be fully cooked and didn’t look like the normal fish served. The upgrade okra was burnt.

Those bad reviews are so true. Actually, this restaurant deserves no star. I had a taste for Captain D’s- had not had it in a very long time. This was planning to be my dinner and I was hungry too. I ordered the seafood sampler with coleslaw and broccoli and the deluxe seafood platter with broccoli and coleslaw. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERR AGAIN!!!
1.When I first walked inside the building there was a very bad awful smell odor— one of the attendants was spraying a can of fragrance aerosol in the air to help with the awful odor. I should have walked out then and got back in my car. That was a red flag then.
2. The food was not refreshed. Everything looked like it had been siting out for so long and was reheated. The chicken tenders and stuff crab was old and hard.— including the sides. 3. The Coleslaw was tainted/spoiled. 4. The hush puppies were not fresh and they had a bad spoiled taste to them. 5. The only thing that was freshly cooked was the two breadsticks—they had to cooked them because they was frozen.
This was my first time and will be last time gong to this location. Yuck I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!☹️ ! I hope some of the food I did eat does not give me food poisoning. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Food is always hot and fresh. No complaints. Sometimes you do have to wait maybe 5-7 minutes but that guaranteed the food will be hot and staff is nice.

I was told they were pulling me up for fresh fish. That was not the case. Cold fish fries and hush puppies looked 5 hours old green beans no flavor coleslaw was like they added more mayonnaise. This is definitely my last time visiting this location. Such a disappointment

It didn’t take long to get our food which arrived at the table piping HOT!~ The fish was crispy, but the gumbo was seriously lacking. But hey it’s a fish joint not famous for gumbo. The okra was fried hard like I like it!~ Idk what they used to clean the floor with but they need to use something else. The floors were extremely slippery as if something oil based were on them. They need to use a separate mop to mop the dining room floor and bathroom floors.
