This was my first time going to The Cactus and I had a great experience. My partner and I went for lunch, I got 3 tacos (pollo, cochinita, and pastor) and my boyfriend got enchiladas. I ended up wishing I got the enchiladas because they were phenomenal! I loved my tacos also, found the pollo on its own was a little bland but they also have great sauces/salsas to add.
The staff is very welcoming, and family from what I understood. We received are food very quickly and it was very fresh. Definitely recommend going 🙂

I love this place. The food is great the workers are great and the FOOD. Great family owned Mexican restaurant. When they say spicy they mean it!
Burritos are well done and the tacos and birrias excellent. Mexican coke is my go to. Look out for the specials they have. The fish taco was delicious.
Been coming here for a long time and still come by. They close Sundays and Mondays though so plan ahead.

Super authentic! All the food was amazing and came extremely fast. The waiter who I believe was the owner was friendly and helpful. The place itself is a little dated but don’t let that discourage you from eating here! I would recommend and we will be back. We had the ‘dinner for 2’ plate and could have fed 3, also the Quesabirria were fire. The food is simple but great and loved hot sauces.

Very limited option for authentic mexican restaurant in KWC region but this one is a must try. Highly recommend this place and the green jalapeños sauce that they have as a complimentary is cherry on the top. Definitely will be me and husbands to go authentic mexican restaurant from now on.

Been here 2 times now! I really enjoy their food!! I got the enchiladas verde and my it was amazing! I just do feel like the they could have added a little more rice n beans as the side, it was very little amount of each. My husband got the chimichanga and beans as his side. Super delicious as well! other then that the food taste great!!

The Cactus Mexican Restaurant helped me organize a birthday party with a group of 22. They were super friendly and accommodating. Their menu was able to cater to all the allergies and dietary restrictions of my group (vegetarian, shellfish, eggs, celiac intolerance , pork etc.). We had a phenomenal taco party. Between the food, music, the sombrero for our birthday boy, it was all good vibes. I am looking forward to eat all the leftovers we were able to bring home as the portion sizes were very generous.
My favourites that I need to go back for are definitely their rice and horchata!! I can’t wait to explore the rest of their menu.

My 3rd time at this amazing restaurant. If I lived close by, I’d for sure be eating here at least once a week. Yes it is that good!! The music is fabulous! The people that run this place are fantastic, and the cuesabirria was the best I’ve ever had anywhere!!! Muy delicioso!

A lovely Mexican restaurant, lots of parking, in Waterloo. Great for a family night out. We always love the beef tongue and birria tacos. The steak Carne Asada are amazing as well. There is a small menu in Spanish that has authentic tacos, and would advise asking the server. Of course the meal is not complete with Mexican coke.
